RAW Commences Fallout - SummerSlam 2023

Image
What’s Going On, Enthusiasts? Everything going good for you? Well, SummerSlam has come and went and though it wasn’t their best PPV/PLE, I wouldn’t exactly call it bad. I just think some matches didn’t work but the intent to cleanly execute was there. Things just didn’t come together as hoped. We got some Industry news to go over too so, let’s jump into it. So, a couple of things before diving into SummerSlam. Word is going around that WWE may have already signed Brian Pillman, Jr. Reports circling the trades are saying that Pillman has been seen at the Performance Center and that he’s set for a NXT taping. Again, I know too little about him to fully comment but from what I see going around, Pillman could use some direction. We’ll see if WWE is the right next step. Also, going around is that Logan Paul made it to see his brother Jake in action against Nate Diaz later Saturday evening. There’s video going around that shows Logan Paul getting into it with some fans in the crowd. Guess th

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Friday treating you well? I have to say, my ship appears to be coming in so, I’ll just say, I’ve had worse 😉 There’s not that much going on in the Wrestling World that has caught my interest so, this should be a short post. Let’s start in the Realm of AEW. There’s a rumor going around that the Young Bucks may be getting tired of the AEW way. There’s a feeling that they may try for WWE in the near future. Many commenters think that may not be the wisest decision because they are far from stellar performers.  From what I’ve seen, I’d have to agree. With intense training they may be able to get up to speed but I don’t know why the WWE Universe would care about them. They’re not imposing or impressively skilled and definitely look like they work at Trader Joe’s or something. I don’t see them being taken too seriously outside of AEW. We’ll see if they come to their senses or settle for Impact. In the WWE Universe, the main focus continues to be the Bloodline Sa

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! So, there’s some stuff to chat about but not much. Nevertheless, this should make for a decent post so let’s get into it, shall we? First up, in the Realm of AEW, it appears that CM Punk and AEW have come to some sort of resolution and Punk is planned to return for Collision with Ace Steel sending in texts and emails accordingly. Word is that Punk and Steel will be heavily involved in the creative aspect of this show and it will probably showcase a very soft brand split. If things go well, the delineations will become clearer. We’ll see what happens with all that. I get the feeling Tony Khan is going to learn some things the hard way but so be it. That’s the only way the lesson sinks in sometimes. Regardless, I hope this solves whatever the problem was and if it doesn’t, that’s what I’m talking about.  In the real world, WWE is making it clear that it doesn’t intend to do much competition with AEW. In venues where both promotions do business,

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts!   Are you enjoying the day off if you have it? Most of us in the United States have the federal holiday of Memorial Day off and I have to say that it’s always nice to have a 3-day weekend. WWE took advantage and had a couple PPVs if you count NXT’s offering. Let’s discuss, shall we?   Well, WWE can rest easy this week as word has it AEW’s PPV, Double or Nothing didn’t quite hit the mark. I saw some comments along the lines of it being “boring” so, WWE is definitely going in the right direction as the PPVs of late have been quite entertaining. Night of Champions was no different.   Most feel the 3 rd and final “main event” with Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn battling the Bloodline in the form of Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa was Match of the Night. I just have to say that Zayn addressing the crowd in Arabic was very heartwarming. It’s always nice to have real moments like that which put the whole event in proper prospective.   That did give way to

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday. So, I wouldn’t say it’s a slow news day in the Wrestling World but there isn’t much for me to chat about so I’ll keep this short. Let’s get into it. First item of note is that there is talk that AEW has struck a “billion dollar deal” with Warner Discovery to air AEW content for the next 5 years. There’s no confirmation on this. Word is Tony Khan isn’t saying anything so, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. On that note, it appears that CM Punk is set to return to AEW via the Collision PPV slated for June. Naturally, the event is to be held in Chicago and is supposed to focus on our grumpy grappler. It's going to be interesting to see how this goes down. Sounds like AEW is playing up the drama to help it go over with live crowds. We’ll have to see if they’re successful. I think they can be if they have a lot of fun with it. Like I keep saying, go ahead and make Punk the “Scourge of Wrestling”.  In the WWE Universe we got an update on M

WrestleMania 39 Is Complete - RAW Gives Us the Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Did you enjoy WrestleMania? Well, I think Night 1 won the evenings overall, hands down, but I think Night 2 ended just as it ought to have. Yet, you all know there is bigger news circulating so, let’s talk about that and then breakdown Sunday night. So, it happened. UFC and WWE have merged into some sort of MMA, sports entertainment infused super conglomerate. Now, as much as I wasn’t buying into the hype, I know that there tends to be a modicum of truth in rumor. I just didn’t want to jump to conclusions like so many commenters do.  However, this may be the elusive “perfect buyer” that I didn’t know existed. This solution could hold WWE to some accountability and UFC could veto absolutely atrocious ideas that WWE sometimes try to float. The “realness” of UFC will probably push WWE to present itself more realistically which could iron out a lot of their shoddier ways of presenting content due to no one “questioning management”. Yet, as hopeful as I may seem

SmackDown Wraps Up Elimination Chamber Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? It’s a rainy one over here in Southern California. I’m rained in for the next couple of days so, all I have to do is hope the power doesn’t go out and I should be fine. Hope everyone is staying warm and dry. As for the Wrestling World, meh, there have been more exciting weeks but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t find something to talk about. Let’s have a little chat. It appears Jeff Hardy has received his consequences for his DUI last year. He got slapped with a decent fine, court fees and his driver’s license is suspended for the next 10 years. It was his 3 rd DUI offense in the past 10 years so, it could be viewed as a somewhat lenient punishment. Sounds like he’ll also have to go to rehab and perform some community service.  It’s probably best that Hardy takes this time to get healthy and contemplate the future. General consensus is that he’s pretty beat up from all his years of wrasslin’ so he should probably get in shape, get clean and assess how he wants

RAW Has Elimination Chamber Fallout (2023)...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Enjoying your 3-day weekend? I’m like the rest of the world and had to work on this day. I’ve had to do that before but in this case it just seems kinda strange because this place of business otherwise adheres to U.S. Federal Holidays. Just not Presidents’ Day 🤷 Well, it’s not the first time I’ve had to work a Holiday. I’ll live. Let’s see what’s going on in the world of wrestling. So, as we all know, Elimination Chamber was last Saturday and it was a lot of fun. I was pleased. It was a tad bit predictable but I don’t want my money back. In most opinions, Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn was match of the night and I think we have to give credit to the crowd for that one. They were rivaling Seattle Seahawks fans. Didn’t think Canadians had it in ‘em 😉  There’s some pissy chatter that Reigns didn’t win clean but I don’t know when that will actually be an issue. Let’s wait for another wrestler to bring it up as beef against him. I can see Cody Rhodes playing that

The Royal Rumble Is Over! - And Now, RAW Has Fallout....

Image
A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts. How did you enjoy the Royal Rumble? I would say the general consensus is that it wasn’t bad but there were definitely some things left to be desired but overall, not disappointing. Most didn’t care for the match order either though in retrospect, I can see why WWE did what they did but hopefully it was with a mind for tonight otherwise, a more traditional order would have sufficed. Let’s break it down a bit, shall we? So, we were all a little surprised that the Rumble opened with the Men’s Rumble. I would have left this for the end, especially with Cody Rhodes winning. Leaving the Universal Title match for last left the event on a “down” note so that’s why I’m hoping it was to segue into tonight’s RAW . Word is that Rhodes is going to open to follow-up his win so that may have been the point.  Personally, it felt like a strange move because what’s to keep people in the seats for the rest of the show? Though the Women’s Rumble kept pace with the Men’s
