SmackDown Shows It Got the Memo on SummerSlam....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

It’s a hot one in Southern California. No doubt it’s summer. Not complaining as it usually allows me to shed a few unintended pounds. When it comes to the Wrestling World there are things going on. AEW has its All-In PPV coming up and WWE is starting to turn up the heat for Summer Slam. There isn’t a lot for me to comment on but I got a few things. Ready for it? Here it goes.

So, I had to stop by the Realm of AEW to check in on the progress of The Future and it appears to be going well. Hangman Page is doing a good job of keeping the focus in the ring and building up the anticipation for this Texas Death Match with Jon Moxley. Moxley did his talking and changed the script at the end of the main event of this week’s Dynamite. The Riders of Death joined forces with the Young Bucks and the Hooligan, Gabe Kidd and looked as if they would try to “kill” Page before the match even happened but then Swerve Strickland entered the chat.

Those who know, know that Page and Strickland have beef but that appears to have been squashed in the face of a “greater threat”. Strickland provided a major distraction in destroying the Bucks’ limo. That was all that was needed for the hero and friends to turn the tide. Hangman Page looks poised to finish what Mox started. Will this mark the beginning of the end, so to speak. Looking at the calendar, I would say not so much but don’t expect the match to be clean. There’s gotta be some BS in the mix but that’s what lays the foundation for the Future so, please proceed. Page & Stache are growing on me 😉 It looks like it’ll be a fun time. I’ll catch the madness later.

Over in the WWE Universe, Goldberg prompted a discussion on ownership of The Spear move. According to him, at this point he feels Bron Breakker is the only one who should be using it. He even put some icing on it by saying that Roman Reigns’ is the worst at it. Naturally, a lot of commenters beg to differ. I’ll give Breakker his props, he does seem to take it to the next level but there’s nothing wrong with some clean execution and we can at least give Reigns that. People appear dead but aren’t actually killed. And with Goldberg’s reputation for being unsafe, I’m not sure how much he can talk. But perhaps that’s the point. Maybe this is just to ruffle feathers and generate a little heat? I’ll just close the matter by saying that Breakker can have the Spear but others just need to choose their spots. If one can execute it well, why not? Just don’t lead with it.

In other news, there are some big WWE events this weekend as we have the Saturday Night: Main Event on Saturday and the Ladies have Evolution on Sunday. Many are saying that don’t be surprised if Saraya aka Paige makes a return to the WWE stage. Personally, this doesn’t really move me. Florence Pugh did a better Paige than Paige did so we’ll see if she’s picked up some pointers. I’m not sure if she’ll do anything in-ring but there has been chatter about a return for a while.

Also, to lead into tonight’s SmackDown, Jelly Roll is slated to appear tonight. He’s supposed to be doing something, perhaps with Logan Paul to assist the build to Summer Slam. I heard he’s even training for some in-ring action. Well, he’s big enough to be believable but I’m not sure about his mobility. Guess that’s what Paul is for.

And so, we can prepare to witness the introduction of Sol Ruca as she, Alexa Bliss, Roxanne Perez and Kairi Sane have themselves a Fatal-4-Way for something. Trish Stratus will size up Tiffany Stratton. Aleister Black will see if Ron Killings aka R-Truth can hang. Jelly Roll will ease himself into the picture and the Street Profits put the Tag Team Championship on the line against reps from the Wyatt Sicks. We’ll have to wait and see who exactly.

Unofficial watch party is set for 8pm PDT. I’ll be making myself comfortable. I suggest you do the same if you don’t have anything else scheduled.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
