SmackDown Leaves Us a Note Before Elimination Chamber...

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts! Happy Friday and Elimination Chamber Eve. The festivities have already begun in Australia and those who are up for it will stay up or wake up early to watch live. I will check in for the replay at about 4pm or 5pm PST. I’ll catch up while I treat it like any other PPV. Got other business during the day. That doesn’t mean we can’t chat a little about the week’s goings-ons. Let’s get into it. To start, we have some more admissions on the recent revelations regarding the scandals permeating WWE. Word is now that women weren’t the only victims. A fair share of men have suffered “uncomfortable” instances in the past as well, showing that inappropriate behavior may have been more commonplace than many would like to believe.  Personally, this isn’t that surprising to me. The 80’s were a very fluid time and with the drugs in the mix, sex being part of the equation isn’t much of a stretch. Doesn’t make it right but a lot of heinous shit has happened over the years.

SmackDown Does Double Duty Before Going Down Under...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Glad it’s Friday? I don’t hate it, I have to admit. So, there’s not that much going on in the Wrestling World but enough to talk a little bit. Shall we?   We’ll start in the Realm of AEW as word has it that Jeff Hardy suffered a broken nose during the double taping of Rampage. Sounds like you can catch the fateful moment on tonight’s episode. Jeff has been through plenty so this just sounds like another bout of bad luck. Let’s wish him a speedy recovery.   Next item of business is what’s floating around is that The Rock made the call to give Cody Rhodes clearance to finish his story and turn himself Heel to tell a better one. Now, given how CM Punk was handled, I think we can officially just take whatever is shared with the public at face value. I’ve always done this because of the nature of the business but I’m not going to believe anything we’re told going forward. It’s pretty clear they’ll just tell us what we want to hear or how they want

SmackDown Tries to Smooth It All Over for Elimination Chamber & WrestleMania....

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   Enjoying the start to the weekend? Well, I’m certainly glad it’s here and I’m looking forward to some sleep but you know there’s some stuff to talk about. I’ll stop the chitchat and get right to it.   So, WWE has a bit of pickle it would seem. The “Match of the Modern Era”, The Rock vs. Roman Reigns isn’t the hot ticket everyone thought it would be because of Cody Rhodes’ BabyFace appeal. The fix? Have Rhodes “finish his story” against Reigns. Okay, so, when do we get Rock vs. Reigns? I still want to see that match someday. So, when?   On Feb. 8 th , a press conference was held to address some of these issues and whet our appetite for WrestleMania 40 and it did for me for the most part but there are still a few holes in this story. Will it be enough? Many are upset The Rock inserted himself. It kinda threw off the whole thing but I didn’t really mind it. I have become accustomed to WWE doing whatever. I don’t feel it’s that serious to care abo

SmackDown Finalizes the Royal Rumble...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! How’s everything going? It’s a good one for me. Got some good things coming down the pike. Can’t say the sentiment is so hopeful in the WWE Universe but I suppose the healing can now begin. Let’s get into what’s going on. Well, it’s hard to get away from the scandal hovering over WWE. Word is that the Feds are looking into it now. More to see if anyone was skirting the financials. Deals like these can’t be on company books so I’m sure there looking for any criminal action on the fiscal accounting of these unsavory affairs.  It doesn’t look good. I won’t lie. And I’m not sure what happens from here. Yet, at the same time, I feel those who were uninvolved need to focus on just that. One can’t help the faults of others. That doesn’t stop the business from being a billion dollar company and the best in the industry. I figure it’s best to focus on that. But I will touch on that in light of all these scandalous allegations that there is a call to “omit” Mr. Vince M

SmackDown Does Its Best to Stay Focused on the Royal Rumble....

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! Well, there’s certainly stuff to talk about. Shall I just cut right to the chase and get it over with? All right, here we go. So, it’s spread to the legitimate news outlets that a civil suit has been filed against Mr. Vince McMahon and the allegations are quite damning to say the least. Though many have read the complaint, I’m fine with taking everyone’s word for it. And like many commenters, please keep in mind that this is a civil suit so the Plaintiff is trying to get the agreement honored more than have Mr. McMahon charged with crimes. That would be a state matter I would think if criminal charges were to be filed. Regardless, the accounts described appear to be deplorable and it’s an unfortunate blight on this Go-Home Week for the Royal Rumble. No doubt the Plaintiff’s counsel angled for the timing of the filing. Right when there’s visibility on WWE, slam this suit down and see what happens. Though I feel for the Plaintiff, I can’t help but feel this so

SmackDown Welcomes 2024 with New Year's Revolution....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? The first week of the year going well for you? I’m not complaining. Definitely have seen worse. As for the Wrestling World, there’s plenty going on but only a small portion concerns me. Let’s chat a bit about the more prevalent news, shall we?  First thing going on is that Charlotte Flair had major knee surgery recently to correct her injury and the event has humbled her given her statement . It has reminded her that she is human and who knows what the future will hold or if she’ll be able to compete at the same caliber again. Let us wish her a quick recovery. That which does not kill us does make us stronger. In lighter news, it’s apparent that theThe Rock vs. Roman Reigns match is going down this year. The question is when. The obvious move is WrestleMania but there’s a lot of talk of the Elimination Chamber set for Australia, though naysayers don’t think The Rock makes the trip. Personally, I’m leaning towards WrestleMania. It’s a “big deal” kind of matc

SmackDown Gets a Christmas Break...

Isn’t that nice 😉 It’s only fair since RAW is gonna run a clip show. So, tonight we can look forward to pre-recorded action. As for wrestling, news there’s a lot of speculation floating around but nothing concrete as of yet but still a little to kick around so, let’s have a brief chat. But before I get into that, let me just take a quick moment to say thanks to everyone stopping by. I know my little blog isn’t popular but it always surprises me when I get some traffic. The way I appear to work is that though my fans are few, they are die-hard so it’s nice to get a little recognition from time to time but I’ll be honest, I’ll be partial to those who’ve been there since Day 1. Anyway, as for industry speculations, the likes of Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin and Mustafa Ali become free agents this week. As some of you may know, Matt Riddle recently signed with MLW which prompts me to be a bit conflicted because I am no fan of his. I like MLW but I’m thankful for their scant TV presenc

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday. It’s a pricey one for me. Had to get a smog check and they took me for $80! Every place I checked quoted me at $50. I had to opt for the closest option. Lesson learned. In any case, we don’t have that much to discuss. It’s kinda a slow news day but that doesn’t mean there’s no news. Let’s chat about some, shall we? First up, we have some bittersweet news as Kenny Omega has claimed he is out indefinitely due to undisclosed injuries. He’s a bit of a workhorse so I’m not surprised it all just caught up with him. Corny as he can be, I respect the man and as everyone else, I wish him a speedy recovery. It’s always unfortunate when one of the bonafide soldiers gets sidelined. Hope to see him back in action soon. In other news, there may be a shakeup in the TV listings as WWE is courting or is being courted by Warner Brothers/Discovery for TV time. RAW may find a new home on TBS or TNT network and could perhaps be in direct competition for AEW progra

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Hanging in there? Enjoying the winter weather, wherever you may be? I’m making the most of it. So, there’s not a whole lot to talk about but there’s enough for a brief chat. Shall we? First up, let’s just take a moment to address the attention that Brock Lesnar’s daughter, Mya has gotten recently. I feel I should comment because I too am my father’s daughter and can relate to the sometimes awkward reality. To be honest, I didn’t really pay much mind to the posts because I thought it was some troll playing with photoshop but no, there’s no doubt who this young lady’s father is and she appears to be doing all that she can with it. Good for her! She’s not the only father’s daughter as both Charlotte Flair and Ava/Simone Johnson can attest. It happens and all we can do is wear it with style and grace. I guess only time will tell if she’ll bring a new kind of reign of terror to WWE one day 😉 Something tells me the option is available to her should she choose to

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! How are you? Doing well, I hope. Well, I love the new vibe of WWE. It feels like we can have some real fun with it now. And in the background, rumors of AEW’s issues waft through. It’s an interesting time in the Industry. Very interesting. So, CM Punk reintroduced himself to the WWE populous and many were, meh about his promo. I thought it was solid. It was to the point and inspiring to the point of all the potential the future holds. I don’t mind his cantankerousness. I’m glad I get to see what all the talk was about, even if he’s “old” now 😉 Word is that a feud with Roman Reigns is already in the works and that kinda goes without saying given Paul Heyman is in the mix. They’re gonna give that man a “heart attack.” I’m ready for it! Seth Rollins has to be in it too and who knows…I kinda wouldn’t be surprised if something starts with LA Knight because of the whole, rocking the mic thing. I would wait until Punk is full Heel for that though. One would think
