How's SmackDown Gonna Come Up With This One?...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!

How’s it going for you?  Mine worked out better than I thought it would, I can honestly say that.  Anyway, we’ve got a little bit before the Go-Home Shows for TLC and surprisingly enough, RAW has been doing a solid job of entertaining of late.  I’m a little shocked.  I don’t want to get too ahead of things because this may be the best of it but if I didn’t know better, the WWE may actually be establishing a train of thought.  I know.  It’s hard to digest.  But someone is starting to actually think about the presentation of this mess.

This week’s RAW was good about tying off its ends this past Monday and so that leaves SmackDown to match and/or up the ante.  Unfortunately, I’m not sure that it can do that with what it’s offering.  I don’t have a problem with Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin; they probably have to get used to each other anyway so all they have to do is stay loose and have fun.  You know it’s clear that though The Fiend is praised in social media, he’s only half-selling in real time.  His placement on SmackDown may have inadvertently recalibrated the shows.  RAW was once the “A-Show” by default.  It was first and then came SmackDown, the “B-Show”.  It gave others a chance to shine while the bigger stars played on RAW.  Yet, over time, RAW became the A-Show in name only.  Its content became random and its entertainment practically inadvertent.  If you wanted a decent wrestling show, you began to expect it from SmackDown.  Now, the action in general is mostly solid but the damper is clearly The Fiend.  Ultimately, I like Bray Wyatt.  He gets it for the most part and is trying to have fun with his thing.  I’m not mad at him.  But this “Fiend” thing may not make sense in real time.  A horror flick may be the better representation.  Now, how to segue out from under this…I don’t know.  I kinda fear Wyatt may have to bite the bullet on this one.  If this is his baby, he may have to get it fully over on his own and I’m just not sure he really knows how to do that.

In any case, at least the Fun House is over.  We’ll get a little taste of that among other things.  Hear that Baron Corbin has some humiliation waiting for Reigns.  Hopefully, it’s funny.  That should be the real goal.  As for WWE news, word floating through most is that John Morrison did in fact sign with the WWE but general consensus is that we won’t see much of him.  I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a little truth to that but it may not be so bad.  His expertise in the field may be more why they resigned him.  Don’t be surprised if he becomes more like a roster mentor/coach.  With NXT so acrobatic, the bigger guys may have to learn how to do some tricks.  He seems to know how to get a longer frame around.  You may see his handy work more in the content.  Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites, well we’re not quite to Go-Home so, they need to just stoke the fires but more importantly, end on a somewhat high note.  Give them a chance but don’t lie.

See You in a Bit,
