TLC Is Here to Close Out 2019!!
Greetings, Enthusiasts!
Sunday going smoothly for you? Well, for those of us who are curious, we are
set to gather around for the final PPV of 2019 in the form of Tables, Ladders
and Chairs, affectionately known as TLC.
What to expect from tonight’s offering is a bit nebulous because there
doesn’t appear to be anything really on the line here. The title matches were held on RAW so that basically leaves this as a
space to blow out the year. The question
will be will that happen, though?
The last 2 PPVs weren’t exactly bad
but they didn’t end on particularly high notes so the WWE has to reestablish
some sort of meaning to the PPV. It’s
the only reason I subscribed to the Network but if we can get better action for
free, those who have signed up for similar reasons may start to question this
monthly expense. I’m not quite there yet
but if this one ends on a similar note, I may start to reconsider.
In any case, given the “up in the air”
lead in to the PPV, I’m not going to comment too much on the matches. I think it kinda goes without saying that
Bobby Lashley and Rusev have the most riding on their match. I read that Lana had received death threats
over this excruciating angle and though it was questionable at best, come on
people. If it bothers you that much, you
have to start watching something else. There’s
not enough going on to warrant ending someone’s life over it. Even the joke of it is over the top. Shouldn’t be caring that much anyway. Nothing’s even riding on it. So many better things to get your panties in
a bunch about. Regardless, I don’t mind
these fellows as performers but if they have to develop their own content, I
feel for them. Looks like their talents
may lie elsewhere.
Another set who have to represent are
the Ladies, as the Kabuki Warriors are set to face off against Charlotte and
Becky Lynch. This is the only female
offering. They don’t have as far to go
as Lashley and Rusev but they do have to come correct to keep the Women’s
charge relevant. I’m not worried about
them but they do have a good bit of pressure to contend with.
The matches that raise the most curiosity
for me are Bray Wyatt vs. The Miz match for one. This could work or fall completely flat. I don’t see much in between. It’s clear that Wyatt is trying to find the
right tone/rhythm to proceed in but it’s a delicate balance. I don’t envy him because he can’t go too far
but he has to go somewhere if he’s gonna prompt a viewer response. We tend to understand epic beatdowns as I’ve
said before. If he can leave that at the
center of the matter, he may just salvage this experiment.
The other match is the one with Aleister
Black vs. Buddy Murphy. They may not get
a lot of time but this may be the most interesting match. I’m expecting this to be the sleeper hit of
the night. Nothing’s riding on it but
the word on these guys is that we don’t know what we got so, this is their chance to get us to start to recognize.
I haven’t been disappointed with them yet. The real hurdle may be telling them
apart. Kinda rocking similar looks 😉 We’ll see if they’re the ones who really set
the tone. Funny tweets get retweeted and
as for Likes/Favorites, feel free to go for it.
Hopefully, they go out there and let it all hang out. The setup doesn’t give them much to work with
off-hand so they may just have to go out there and say, “fuck it!”. Wouldn’t be mad at them…kinda hoping that’s
what happens. Let’s go ahead and set it
off!
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole
