RAW Takes Us Out into Open Waters...

Hello Enthusiasts,

How’s everyone doing? Well, I hope. So, here we are in pre-Fastlane and pre-pre-WrestleMania No Man’s Land. Whatever shall fill the void? Other wrestling sites are beginning to catch-wise to WWE’s true failings. They have some mild pressure to come up with something that proves they're just not sitting around twirling pens and tapping laptops, hoping for ideas. Yet this isn’t exactly new so, let’s get into some of the other news floating around.

The biggest bit of news comes from 2 pseudo-infamous, former WWE wrestlers in the forms of Big Cass and Enzo Amore. I don’t know what they’re going by now but the surprise is that Cass is in good shape and looks like he’s ready to rock. The joke going around is that WWE should be around shortly now that he’s big and fit. I wouldn’t exactly expect that, though. Not that it couldn’t happen in the future, I expect that a lot of former WWE wrestlers may return in the near future, it’s just that there’s no place for them at present. If WWE can’t make the best use of the roster it has, adding them back into the mix probably won’t help. WWE has to get the WWE Universe formally established before it can really contemplate new additions to the main roster. This is the main reason people are sitting at home waiting. With a more defined WWE Universe, they could at least have some idea of what to do with people and perhaps give them true opportunities to shine. I think they are attempting this but as you can see, it’s no smooth or easy process. Even with a vision, there’s no guarantee it has a real place in reality. That’s what the trial and error is all about. You see what works and what doesn’t. Let’s hope WWE is keeping a real tab of the results.

That being said, there’s a lot of chatter requesting that Christian get put back into the mix. At least with that option, you have the Edge angle. Maybe Edge gets a “third wind” like Keiji Mutoh and decides to go for whatever gold he can get. Why not another Tag Team run and a shot at the WWE Title? Why can’t he carry 2 belts in his twilight years? If done realistically enough, I wouldn’t mind it. Edge is the best they have on TV with the actual TV credentials to his name so, I don’t see why he couldn’t make it interesting. Also, Christian is looking in fine shape despite being 500 years old. He’s been making his appearances count so far so I wouldn’t mind seeing more of him. That’s the upside of the WWE Universe. If you work, you work. I think Pat McAfee is a great example of that. Moreover, with it still being this sort of pandemic transition back to live audiences, it’s a good place to have the vets have a few last hurrahs. I think as the world reopens, fans will probably want fresher action. If WWE is smart, they’ll be using this sort of downtime to get the up and comers ready.

Yet, we’re some time away from seeing if that holds any truth. In the meantime, let’s focus on tonight’s RAW. We’ll see firsthand the outcome of The Miz’s title reign as he faces off against Bobby Lashley. I wouldn’t be surprised if The Miz manages to weasel out of it which is fine by me. The Miz can entertain. The only thing he has to guard against is being too cheesy or corny. That’s the caveat with him. He can get silly and cartoony. If he can make dragging this out funny, we may not mind him dragging his feet. We also can expect Drew McIntyre returning tonight and I can’t imagine him being in a great mood. Could this showdown evolve into a triple threat? We’ll have to wait and see. Same goes for if Rhea Ripley debuts as well. Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes well, there’s a ways to go. All we’re really looking for is if they hold our interest. SmackDown hasn’t dropped the ball in a while and RAW has been holding steady but they are the most prone to a fumble. We’ll see if they’re using SmackDown as motivation to play a cleaner game.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
