BackLash Now Complete, RAW Falls Out..

How’s Monday Treating You, Enthusiasts?

Did you like Backlash? You know what, I didn’t mind it. Could have done without the zombies but I see what they were doing a lot of cross promoting last night. If I were them, I’d be cheekier with that sort of thing because done too gratuitously and it just comes off tacky. I get it, though. You got sponsors and a limited amount of time. Just trying to pay everyone the proper lip-service and be creative about it. I’d say keep trying.

As for the action, tonight was fun. I liked how the Ladies didn’t disappoint per usual. Rhea Ripley is proving me right by showing she’s quite the obstacle. Will she just have a dominating rule that we eventually grow tired of? I would hope they come up with something more nuanced than that but yeesh, you never know with these guys. Last night was definitely proof they can be hit or miss. Yet, there were more hits than misses. I’m actually not sure which match was match of the night.

I liked the RAW Men’s Triple Threat mainly because you could see that Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre are really working on it. They really put their backs into it out there. Yet, Cesaro and Roman Reigns turned into a really nice match in the end. It’s kind of a draw for me. I’m proud of them. WWE is very promising at the moment. You can see all the raw potential. There’s no doubt the talent is there but they need to come together and start establishing a Vision. That’s the one thing that’s missing. They just don’t know where they’re going.

So, that brings us to tonight’s RAW, Backlash Fallout. There’s bound to be a rematch for the non-paying crowd. Charlotte is probably going to dispute the outcome and may angle for a one-on-one rematch with Ripley either for a RAW or for the recently announced Hell in a Cell for June. Word is Money in the Bank got pushed back to July in hopes of having fans in attendance. Don’t blame ‘em.  MVP is going to continue to make moves in favor of the Hurt Business. And we’ll have to see if they have to find the serum to reverse the zombie process for The Miz and John Morrison. The cautionary tale of The Fiend should have tipped them off that going this route isn’t the smartest decision. It’s an issue with the format. It’s hard to suspend your disbelief when you know it’s just people in makeup. Not to mention that if it were real, we’d have a lot bigger problem. It’s too obvious it’s not real so it ends up just being ridiculous. An audience can end up feeling insulted. That wasn’t the case here but you see what I mean. Doesn’t exactly land, does it? Save it for commercial spots or trailers or something. We just won’t buy the concept in real time. It’s for a horror flick. But I digress. Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes, well RAW managed to clean itself up a bit last week but they are the weak link. Let’s see if they make themselves more respectable or serve up more of the same. Don’t feel the need to be too nice.

See You in a Bit,
