SmackDown Cooks Up Something Worth "Going Home" For...

A Good Friday to You, Enthusiasts!

This one had some twists and turns for me but they sat me right back where I always am so, let’s see what’s going on in the world of wrestling. There are a few rumblings going around.

The first that raised an eyebrow is news that there may be some dissension within the AEW ranks. The word is that Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson haven’t been seeing eye-to-eye on too much recently. It’s all talk and speculation but those close to the situation don’t appear to be surprised. The only thing that comes to mind with this development is what if things get so bad that Rhodes considers returning to WWE.

The thing about reality is that it gets you to think. Anything is possible but once you put something into motion and it manifests how to maintain it becomes the next hurdle. The reality of the venture of AEW is developing. As with anything, as one gets better acquainted with circumstances, one can more easily see the pros and cons. As many are saying regarding this situation, the honeymoon appears to be over. Would it be enough for Rhodes to come back? I don’t mind him but I can’t really say I’m enthralled with his action on AEW. It comes off much like it looks. Since he’s one of the founders, he gets to go out and do what he wants. Autonomy is delectable but if no one cares, what’s the point? On the other hand, it’s hard to say WWE would have much for him. They don’t have to resurrect Stardust but I think they would have to give him his due to some degree. I just have no idea how. Yet, that’s even more speculation. Not sure they’re there yet but the talk of fracture does portend some foreshadowing. And there is an outside shot this is purposeful gossip to stir up a storyline to debut later. That would actually be quite savvy. We’ll see if we ever hear what’s real.

Another bit of interesting AEW news is that MJF would consider WWE under the right conditions. He seemed like a guy that would never make the infamous jump but being a well-known heel, I suppose in theory it wouldn’t be outside his scope. Well, the thought of it brings up a hilarious rivalry with The Miz. Who the hell does this kid think he is? If there is going to be a hotshot, pompous shit-talker around, it’s gonna be him. We all know MJF would beg to differ. They wouldn’t be able to stand each other. It could be gold. We’ll see if it ever happens.

To segue over to WWE, it sounds like Zelina Vega will be returning to WWE and she’ll be in The Rock’s daughter’s corner. That could be interesting. I’m not at all surprised at Vega’s return. I understand her being made example of. Yet, she does have something and does bring something to the table and so, I’m glad to see her coming back. Let’s face it, she couldn’t do much for Andrade anyway. At some point they would have been separated and much of what transpired would have taken place, just at a later date. Looks like Fate did it for them sooner. Moving along.

And so, that brings us to tonight! On SmackDown, The Women’s Tag Team Titles go up for grabs and it looks like Natalya & Tamina get an honest shot. And Jimmy Uso continues to stand his ground in defiance against the “Tribal Table”. Things like this happen in family and it looks like they’re having fun with it. We’ll have to watch to get the rest. Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes, well SmackDown hasn’t been the problem since the start of the year so all they have to do is maintain and from the sound of it, it looks like they’re doing that. It should be a bit more punched up, being a Go-Home Show and all but if they’re thinking long range, the true build is for Summer Slam. Let them let it all simmer.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
