RAW Go-Home Show - Night of Champions

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

It’s Go-Home Week for Night of Champions and in the Wrestling World, we got our fair share of speculation today. I wouldn’t say there’s a lot to talk about but enough to start a few conversations. Let’s take shot at it.

So, if you’re wondering where things are in the CM Punk melodrama, Eric Bischoff has stepped in to basically concur with what a lot of commenters are saying in how it’s setting a bad example to let Punk have his own show. It establishes a questionable precedent. It allowed Bischoff to conclude that this is a demonstration of selfishness on Punk's part. Everything has to come to a halt because of no Ace Steel, whoever that is.

Well, from what I heard, Steel trained Punk back in the day but I could be wrong on that. Haven’t really felt the need to do the deep dive but I hear what Bischoff is saying. Well, we’ll see if AEW changes their mind. They have until June.

In the WWE Universe, the idea of turning the Street Profits and Bianca Belair Heel are being tossed around. I think this could be a lot of fun but timing will be key. I think some new Babyfaces need to be developed before that can happen. Perhaps a catalyst of some sort should initiate their dark turn. Maybe a string of oh-so-close losses that the other team/party wins with some questionable actions. Seeing how playing nice doesn’t win, they decide to try their hand at playing dirty.

All I’m saying is that the turn shouldn’t be arbitrary. Something should trigger it. These guys tend to follow a train of thought so I don’t see why that would have to stop. I hope they wait for proper inspiration.

Sticking with the speculation theme, there is also a general consensus that Seth Rollins wins the new Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions. If we’re going by straight popularity, that would be a safe assumption but he’s also filming for the new Captain America installment so that may not be wise in terms of scheduling. We’ll have to see if that factors into the outcome. Maybe Styles Heel turns and “injures” Rollins so Rollins can peace out. We’ll be watching.

So, that brings us to tonight’s RAW. Since it’s a Go-Home show, Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar will showdown 1 more time to get us all hot and bothered for Saturday. Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus will have their contract signing and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will have to be a temporary trio as they find a 3rd man for the standard 6-Man-Tag scheduled for the evening.

All other twists and surprises we will have to tune in and see for ourselves. I’ll be catching up during the 8 o’clock hour over here in Los Angeles. Feel free to join me for the watch party if you’re able.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
