RAW Double Checks Everyone Knows What Airport They're Flying Out of (Clash in Italy)...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Enjoying the final leg of the Memorial Day Weekend, if it applies? It was a busy one for the IWC so we got a few things to chat about. I won’t talk your ear off like on Friday but we’ll have a decent conversation. Let us begin, shall we?

In the Realm of AEW, they closed the weekend with their Double or Nothing PPV. It’s highly regarded as far as social media is concerned. From what I caught, I’d say that Kenny Omega proved impressive in his time on-screen. I know he’s good but he seemed to put on a short clinic this past Sunday. Gotta prove why you’re a “big deal” from time to time. He’s spoken highly of for a good reason.

As for my observation of the approaching Future, I’d have to say that Kyle O’Reilly vs. Jon Moxley was a mild downer in the kayfabe sense that O’Reilly either suffered or aggravated an injury. You figure O’Reilly would have put up more of a fight if at 100%.

It’s too bad for O’Reilly as Mox maybe took a little too long in this case but did eventually retain the Continental Championship. He didn’t lose any real shit. He may have dropped a tablespoon but you could say that was on purpose. He was gracious enough to offer O’Reilly a handshake after the match so, we’ll have to see what’s next. No complaints. As I keep stressing, no one should see The Future coming. Even as it unfolds, no one should see it coming 😉

As for the Evolution of Will Ospreay, I’d say he’s at least absorbing the lesson but it’s hard to say he fully comprehends it. Nevertheless, Samoa Joe gave him a few things to think about. I appreciated the calculated blitz Ospreay dished out to open the contest. I figured that Joe’s mobility would be a weakness Ospreay should exploit. I would.

Joe did use his savvy to keep this bout close but Ospreay, if anything, just wanted it more. You can see how a battle weary Joe would just let the kid have it. Yet, we’ll see if that’s the end of it. Joe may have to get crafty in his “old age” to get the better of these kids walking around.

As for Ospreay, we watch to see if he fosters humility or re-engages arrogance as he hones his craft. The latter tends to be more fun/interesting but that doesn’t mean the former can’t be. They just have to work harder for it, which could be the moral of this story. We shall see.

In the WWE Universe, last week’s Saturday Night: Main Event was the big deal and I have to say it was a solid display. Like a bigger RAW or something. I would say the Ladies made the best showing. The lead-off 6-Woman-Tag was Match of the Night for me. They all did the best that they could and it showed.

I think it’s obvious that Ethan Page has the most work to do. He’s not that big and his in-ring ability is very okay so he’s gonna be about entertaining us. It’s not impossible but this universe holds a tough crowd. We’ll see how his Canadian sensibility holds up.

Now the rest of the big stars have to show what they got at Clash in Italy. RAW has for us some lady action in Bayley and Lyra Valkyria staying fresh courtesy of the Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. Je’von Evans is going to try to unload the Intercontinental Championship from Penta (Lucha-Mitsu). Oba Femi will have some words to share after getting “surprised” by Brock Lesnar. And we’ll see if Jacob Fatu and Roman Reigns can confirm their match at Clash in Italy. Guess we’re just gonna finalize the terms.

Next week should be the last early West Coast showing so, get it while it lasts. Come June I’ll be starting like the old days at 8pm PDT. Depending on how things go, I may up it to 7pm just because I have the time but we’ll see if that actually happens. Until then…

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
