RAW Checks to See What's Next...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Welcome to a new week. So, there’s not much to talk about but there’s enough for a brief chat. I’ll try to keep to the point so we can get on with it. Care to bear with me for a little bit? Here we go.

Over in the Realm of AEW it looks like Collision did a little clean-up with its Will Ospreay angle. Jon Moxley and the Riders of Death have switched focus onto Kyle O’Reily so Ospreay explained himself. It’s simple, really. If you want to hit the next level, say what you want about his psycho methods, Mox gets you over the hurdle. And so that’s that.

This was more to signal Ospreay becoming Samoa Joe’s problem or is it the other way around as Joe was the one to call Ospreay out later in the night. Personally, this is enough ‘cause this course correction allows Ospreay to go whichever way he wants. He can have a sportsmanlike contest with Samoa Joe or perform a “psych out” of a plot twist and show that he’s been in cahoots with Joe all along down the line or chuck it all for some other milestone, e.g. the Owen Hart Classic for instance. It’s whatever they want and that’s fine. Can’t box yourself in a corner with this stuff. Always have exits ready. We’ll see where he ends up.

Over in the WWE Universe, what’s got everyone talking is the possible return of Baron Corbin. This is fine by me and an example of how you can always come back to WWE. Whether that’s a good thing depends on a lot of things but generally thinking, a release may be only temporary if you have a decent following and many of us like Corbin so this is exactly what I mean.

At a glance, the only real problem was WWE not knowing what to do with him so that’s kinda lame. I think in these cases, the released party will always have another chance ‘cause technically it wasn’t their fault. If they weren’t popular or particularly interesting in the ring, why they got the axe is clear. How is it a performer’s fault if Creative has got nothing? Says more about Creative not the performer. I just hope they get similar cuts when they don’t produce. It’s only fair.

In any case, I’m happy to see Corbin back stalking about the halls. Not sure if he’ll be pursuing mid-card glory or being used as an “Instrument of Authority” but I’m not complaining. Always thought he was fun. You know, when he wasn’t being a prick 😉

So that brings us to tonight’s RAW. We’re looking at a Saturday Night: Main Event and Clash in Italy to close out the month so, we’re a little all over the place. We can expect to see the “Americanos” mask about in a Tornado 6-Man Tag. Oba Femi will drag someone else out to face him in the Open Challenge. We’ll see if Brie Bella and Paige can stave off the hungry pair of Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. And at some point, Roman Reigns will let us know what he’s gonna do about Jacob Fatu.

We got just couple more early nights. I know, I said that a couple weeks ago but this time, it’s for real. I mean it. We’re going back to network days and I’ll be watching at 8pm PDT. Get it early while you still can.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
