BackLash 2026 ─ Matches of Interest

 What’s Going On, Enthusiasts?

Happy BackLash! So, we got a decent card awaiting us this afternoon and I’m looking at a couple matches specifically. This won’t be a long post because of that but hopefully I prove that I got handle on this stuff. I have been watching for a while, you know.

The first match I’ve got eyes on is the opener in Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker. To look at it, you wonder why Rollins would show up. What could he possibly do against this young warrior? Well, that’s kinda what we have to see.

This is a precipice of WWE modern history. What once was the “hot new thing” is now staring at what is the current “hot new thing”. It has different connotations in this day and age, especially with the current climate. Not living up to the “myth the legend” could mean Rollins is on the chopping block. 

Breakker, fresh and young, has nothing but potential at this stage. What can he become? Rollins has more to lose here, otherwise he’s just putting Breakker over. Truthishly, I see Rollins pulling some strings on this alone. Character-wise, he wants it more. Breakker is gonna break fools but you can count on his novice to take him out. We can anticipate that Rollins would know this. If Breakker wins, it’s gonna be under some bullshit. Not that he couldn't take him out clean it's just given what we know of these gentlemen, you get the feeling a win for Breakker would either come with help or over Rollins' dead body.

The other match I’m looking at is Asuka vs. Iyo Sky. There’s some speculation that Kairi Sane may make a surprise appearance just to “finish the story”. If this happens, that’s what I’m talking about when it comes to all the chatter. I don’t think a lot of it is real. I think it’s the Wrestling World, adapting to the new world.

This pastime has always existed in the periphery. It’s something about human perception. It has to engage you in a way that gets you to do a lot of the work. You have to be intrigued and engaged for this all to work. I get it and appreciate it but at the same time, I got other things going on in my life. I can’t fall into it but I admit, it’s got me. I have a blog after all 😉

I like these hints at the future. This is what this prevented itself from being. It has to live and breathe with the rest of us. This product was stagnating now, the next level is starting to happen. I like this. Don’t be surprised that those protesting are probably those who don’t like change in general. 

As for Asuka and Sky, they just have to do what they do best. If Sane does return, her purpose, intention, place is what has our interest. How does she change the script? If she remains a “free agent” then Asuka and Sky just have to earn their keep. Something we all know they can do. 

So, that’s what has my particular interest. I’m rooting for Jacob Fatu but I don’t mind Roman Reigns maintaining the status quo. If Fatu does his job, there’s work for him. 

When it comes to Danhausen’s partner, word is it’s gonna be Jelly Roll but we’ll see if that’s disinformation. You have to be circumspect in these days. It may be John Cena’s “big announcement”. Don’t think the “revolution” has reached us just yet. But, appreciate the progress. I never thought we’d be here.

Okay, that’s all I got. I’m gonna make myself a sandwich and enjoy the show. I suggest you do the same, especially if it’s hot.
