SmackDown Makes Sure Everyone Went Home. BackLash Is Tomorrow...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Happy Friday! Well, the IWC is kinda strange right now. It’s just full of rumors and speculations. I suppose that’s always but the line between fact and fiction has never been so blurred. You ever stop to think that all of it may just be talk? There may be morsels of truth here and there but I can’t really believe half of what’s coming across my feed at the moment. None of it is substantiated and we’ll probably never know the truth because we’ll be told whatever they want to tell us, at least when it comes to the WWE. I’ll elaborate on that in a minute but first let’s see what else is going on and then I’ll get into all this…whatever.

So, in the land of AEW the Future appears “cloaked” at the moment and that’s exactly as it should be. The Riders of Death have taken in Will Ospreay and so far, their influence appears to be positive. Yet Ospreay maintains he’s not on the team just calling a truce for now and we’ll see how that evolves. Summer is approaching.

As for Jon Moxley, he got some action in against a similarly “unhinged” Juice Robinson. I think Mox remains in the lead however ‘cause Robinson sucked on no fingers and bit no noses. Mox even wore a little red at one point but tastefully so compared to the gore shows we’ve witnessed in the past. I don’t know what’s wrong with him but we’ll see who starts to “keep score”. I’d start with how he’s unsanitary if we’re building the argument πŸ˜‰

What I did notice, and I like this a lot if it is foreshadowing, is PAC. He was hanging in the back during the training.  Not participating, mind you. He also had his own promo as he set his sights on Darby Allin and the Championship. Is this the “beginning of the end”? I think PAC is a fair challenger for the Rider throne or perhaps he goes rogue. Whatever it is, there’s a story that can be told. I’ll be checking in to see if it amounts to anything.

Over in the WWE Universe, there’s all sorts of chatter going on about who’s going where, the releases and pay cuts. I almost hazard to speak on it ‘cause I have a sneaking suspicion none of it’s real. Well, I’m sure some of it is but the particulars and the motivations are all speculation I’m sure.

I’ve said before that in the Wrestling World, though WWE is at the top of the heap it is for all intents and purposes a Heel Company. So, to counter you can consider AEW a Face Company. I think it will always be a sunnier, more accepting place and in a sense will become a character in of itself. WWE will always be the Big Bad Corporation and AEW will be the company with a heart. As of now, that is how the general narrative is playing out. Look at WWE releasing good people while its executives’ wallets grow fatter. Meanwhile, Tony Kahn is paying for his wrestlers’ surgeries.

Do we know for sure WWE has never done the same? Are we certain Kahn hasn’t released wrestlers to maintain or even bolster his bottom  line? And out in the wilderness you can entertain promotions like TNA, MLW, NWA and New Japan but who cares, generally speaking. We’re happy people are making a living but I don’t go out of my way to see their offerings. Though, I would probably watch MLW if it was more readily available.

All I’m suggesting is consider that all this talk is part of the overall story. The media in general is hard to trust right now so I would put even less trust in the IWC or whatever the WWE releases to the public. Remember, we’ll never know what’s really going on. We’ll only hear what we’re told so don’t get your panties in bunches over stuff that may just add to the kayfabe.

If stories make it to the real news, you can give it some consideration but as long as it stays in our little world, presume it’s scripted just like everything else. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t get stupid just the same though.

That said, we now turn to tonight’s Go Home SmackDown. Backlash is tomorrow and we get the final wind up before we see what they give us. We can expect Damian Priest getting a little payback on Juggalo Talla Tonga. Tiffany Stratton will see how badly Kiana James want’s the US Championship. The Seniors will face the Freshmen as Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley take on those new chicks from NXT in Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx. Trick Williams will do the honorable thing and host the funeral for the fallen Gingerbread Man. Jacob Fatu will have his final thoughts on facing Roman Reigns for the Heavyweight Title. And GUNTHER will explain to us why it is his job to ruin guys like Cody Rhodes’ day.

It’s too hot to cook in my neck of the words so I’ll snack on something an settle in with a nice beverage. Let’s see what this Backlash Eve has got to offer. I don’t have any other plans.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
