RAW Fallout - Night of Champions 2026

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Welcome to a new week. Well, it was an eventful weekend for the Wrestling World. Anyone who cared to, witnessed the juxtaposition between WWE and AEW and was able to come to whatever conclusion. Both have their pros and both have their cons but for the most part, I think the majority of us were entertained. And in both cases, the question now becomes what’s the fallout?

Let us start in the Realm of AEW. The prevailing story appears to be the “new and improved” Will Ospreay. Both he and Swerve Strickland ended up wearing plenty of red as Ospreay surged on to take the match. Strickland didn’t just give it to him, hence the bloody affair but with the Riders of Death in Ospreay’s corner, Ospreay appears to headed towards his “destiny”. How exactly that manifests and what exactly that is remains to be seen, however.

There are a few logistical questions raised by many fans as there appear to be some incongruities with the trajectory Ospreay appears to be on. For instance, given AEW’s affiliation with Warner Bros. as it currently stands, there’s no surprise that they’ve been doing some cross-promotion with the Supergirl movie set to open soon if it hasn’t already. Harley Cameron was out there as Supergirl for girl for Dynamite so, why not have Strickland as Lobo but Ospreay as Bane? It’s not even the same canon. And many commenters pointed out that Bane is a villain. If Ospreay is supposed to be a Face why the villainous cosplay? I guess it’s better than going out as Superman but see how it raises questions.

The same can be said for his affiliation with the Riders of Death since they’re more or less Faces at present, we can’t forget their Heel history and Jon Moxley, though gracious at the end of his match, wasn’t very gentlemanly going for Bandido’s mask. He generally bites people's faces so, that doesn't count. What is going on, exactly?

Many feel that in this lies the clues to a potential betrayal down the line but who will betray who first? And will it even matter? The Future could very well “derail” what would have been if it goes into full effect sooner than later. In that regard, “Strike 1” should go down before the year is out yet I’m fine with them taking their time to make sure this lands effectively. If you ask me, Our Man Moxley seems ready for it but the real care needs to be taken in not letting this get stupid.

The Future is new territory and so bringing it into being needs some thought. All I can say is that it can go “over the top” but it can’t get ridiculous. Talk all the shit you want. Kick each others’ assess but no “attempted murder” or “ending of careers”. Shit is gonna get personal, no doubt but kayfabe-wise for the most part. As long as those lines aren’t crossed, it’s a matter of imagination and having fun. Like I keep saying, once this gets going, it should be a great time. Batshit, but awesome.

With Andrade turning on the Don Callis Family, there’s potential for other feuds to spillover or collide and that’s where I think the party gets started. However, the most direct route to the Future may lie in Ospreay’s opponent at All In. If he’s from the Callis Family well, there you have it. Let the games begin! But it could very easily take a more twisted path so, let’s not get ahead of them. Let’s see what they do but I can say with some confidence that the Future Remains Bright. Let’s hope it lasts 😉

Over in the WWE Universe, I would say they should be very pleased with Night of Champions. It went off cleanly. The Crowd was nice and engaged. No direct threats to anyone’s safety and overall it was well executed.

There were no real surprises. Oba Femi is officially our Ruler. Iyo Sky is our gracious Queen. Tiffany Stratton bested Jade Cargill with a little help from some friends to retain the US Championship. Trick Williams handled Ricky Saints' big mouth. And Sami Zayn is our new Undisputed Champion. To me, that makes sense given being in Saudi Arabia. It’s the closest to giving the hometown kid the win we’re currently going to get. Not to mention that I think Zayn deserves it. He’s not typical Champion material but he’s proven himself. I like this subversive take on Heel-itude and I generally have no problem with this outcome at all. To me, it kinda telegraphs what will probably happen. As much as the big match is Femi shooting for Roman Reigns, you’d think taking it off Zayn would be believable and more or less “cake”. Why can’t Femi be smart about this? If he is to be our “Ruler” chances are he’s around for a while, right? Reigns can wait. Technically, his star will only fade as Femi’s rises.

I am fine with all this but we’ll see if this is how it goes down. Brock Lesnar still lurks as does the Viper, Randy Orton and we can never count out the real Visionary in Seth Rollins. Could these plans get thwarted as well? We shall see but so far, I’m not upset with what I’m looking at.

And so that brings us to tonight’s RAW Fallout. It looks harmless enough as we can expect Joe Hendry to regale us with a song. Rey Mysterio will teach that miscreant Ethan Page a lesson. Jimmy Uso will probably have to save face on Jey Uso’s behalf against LA Knight. Chad Gable and JD McDonagh aren’t feeling each other right now so they’ll have at in the ring. Both our King and Queen of the Ring will be in attendance to celebrate as well as Roman Reigns so we don’t forget what’s really going on.

They got started early today so, I’ll do the same. Probably get going around 6pm PDT. It looks like my schedule will having me doing the same next week but that should be it. I know I keep teasing a change but it’s coming. You’ll see. I’ll be posting all late and shit. Just catch me the next day. Enjoy the early drop while it lasts.

See You in a Bit,
