Just Another Day SmackDown Has to Clean Up the Mess, Never Mind HIAC...
How’s it Going, Enthusiasts!
So, RAW covered its tracks and
even was fairly palatable last night.
Even Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns closing had some bite. Wasn’t expecting it at all but was glad to
see it. We’ve all seen our share of
lackluster PPVs, this time around we may just get our money’s worth.
For tonight, SmackDown can focus
on set-up and hopefully get us nice and jazzed for Sunday. It’s not impossible but I would say they
might want to consider adding some more crackle-pop to the mix. Though RAW
can be nonsensical, it tends to be exciting just because you can’t usually
figure what hijinks will actually ensue.
SmackDown, usually tasked with
having to bring order and sensibility to the mayhem by default, can often feel
a little lackluster. It can feel like
going from a frat party to a Super Bowl barbecue. Both are good times in their own right but
definitely have different tones and crowds.
They need to light up the Go-Home shows a little more. They don’t and shouldn’t descend into madness
as RAW does from time to time but
show they do still know how to party...even if a little more maturely, so to speak. Let’s
see what we’ve got to work with.
Some people may roll their eyes but I’m glad that R-Truth is getting some
TV time. For pushing 50 he’s got a lot
of the kids beat with his athleticism and even if he is jobbing a bit, he’s
making the go of it interesting and fun.
We’ll be seeing him face-off against Cien Almas. The Bar will have at Rusev and Aiden English
for #1 Contender status for the Tag-Team Titles. Charlotte is going to see if Sonya Deville
has anything to offer. Shinsuke Nakamura
and a beat-up Jeff Hardy will have a warm-up go with no title implication. And
to close it out, looks like Brie Bella will try to light things up against
Maryse.
I’m curious to see how Maryse fares in the ring. I’ve never seen her wrestle and have no idea what to expect. I know they’re being paired up for the “Mom Battle” but I just want to see if these ladies can sell. We’ll see if all this comes together to get us Jones-ing for Hell in a Cell. Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites we won’t hold out but we’ll expect some sort of excellence.

See You in a Bit,
