The ROYAL RUMBLE Has Arrived!!!

A Good Sunday to you, Enthusiasts!

The Royal Rumble is upon us once again and for once, I’m kinda excited.  There’s actual buzz!  And not just what they slang regardless, there’s genuine buzz!  This is promising.  Whatever changes they’ve decided to implement appear to be working and for once I’m not sure how any of this is going to go.  It’s great!

The word around the wrassling sites is that the Royal Rumbles should go against type this time around, meaning someone completely unexpected should probably win in both the Men’s and Women’s cases.  If they go this route, it’s hard to say who to pin it on.  Personally, I’d give the win to Baron Corbin for the men and Nikki Cross for the Women if they’re going to do it that way.  Corbin has paid his dues taking all the faux heat and has improved considerably in the ring.  I think he should definitely continue to work for The Authority in some capacity and a good showing could solidify that association.  Nikki Cross, on the other hand, simply won me over.  She’s demonstrating that she has an established sense of her character and she’s ready to spread chaos and mayhem at the drop of the hat.  Bring it on!

Now, when it comes to the title matches, those are harder to call.  Brock Lesnar and Finn Bálor are going to have to really sell this match somehow.  I don’t want to say it’s all on Bálor because the tension has to be believable on both sides.  What Bálor has to focus on is being believable and smart about it.  As I’ve said before, if Bálor is going to have a chance, he’s going to have to show intelligence and perhaps outsmart Lesnar out of the title.  Not only that, it will have to be in a way that we’ll buy and not roll our eyes at.  It’s not a simple task and these gentlemen will have their hands full.  As for the Ladies, I’m only going to focus on the Asuka vs Becky Lynch match because as with Lesnar/Bálor, it’s the juicier bout.  In this case, the ladies are going to have to find a way to keep it interesting.  Lynch has been riding her wave but you know We the Audience, we get bored.  Her “The Man” routine will have to evolve if she’s to maintain it and in Asuka’s case, she has to stay relevant.  I like Asuka but I have leniency towards the international members of the roster.  I try to have a global view but many Americans don’t.  Her Basic English may keep her at a distance to the less enlightened fans but her charisma is universal.  These ladies are going to have to keep it hopping somehow.

As for everything else, I would simply say it’s on everyone to do their part tonight.  With the Buzz hovering, they have to make an effort to take advantage of the anticipatory energy.  We would hate to be disappointed on a night like this.  It’s going to be on everyone to bring it.  And if people are trying to get a little attention, now is the time to get some airtime and see if they can get on this popularity bandwagon.  This night could rightfully get nuts and it’s up to everyone to bring the house down.  I’m eagerly looking forward to it.  Let’s see if they can meet expectations.  Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites, keep an eye out.  Let them set the tone.

See You in a Bit,
- Nicole Alexis (^_~)
