SmackDown Feels WrestleMania Is More a State of Mind than a Place...
A Tip-Top Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts!
How’s it going for you? It’s the same ol’, same ol’ for me. So, let’s get right to it. RAW
was dynamic last night. I think it did a
good job of setting the tone. It wasn’t
over-the-top but there was excitement and intrigue which at least got us
wondering as to how they plan to play all this “drama” out. I’m sure the bulk of you enjoyed the complete
breakdown of the 6-Woman Tag Team match.
I thought it was great. They had
a lot of fun with it too as you could see.
Charlotte stole the show for me, though.
I know I’m not the only one because the gif of her kneeing whomever in
the face while they were getting carted off and arrested is circulating. Hilarious!
That’s my girl now. Heel or Face,
she gets it. We’ll see how they get miraculously
pardoned for their match.
The one disconcerting aspect of last night’s
festivities though was in the form of the showdown between Bobby Lashley and
Finn Bálor’s Dæmon. This was an
unfortunate presentation at best. I felt
bad for the both of them but primarily Bálor because this alter ego has potential
but like I said, if it’s not set-up right the whole thing falls flat…like it
did. Never mind the drawn-on eyebrows
that Lashley was sporting. This segment
just read like a fucking death sentence from start to finish. It was corny and didn’t serve to get anyone
interested in the match. I wasn’t
feeling their feud but I don’t want them thrown under the bus either. Both these guys could work but this one they’re
just going to have to toss out. I’m not
sure if they keep this gimmick come show time but they are going to have
brainstorm to make this match worth watching and not end up the evening’s
collective time for a bathroom break.
In any case, for tonight SmackDown will do as is often done prior to a big title match. Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan will sit down
and attempt to sign the contract for their match this Sunday. And for our viewing pleasure, Cien Almas
(they call him Andrade) and Rey Mysterio are set for another bout for bragging
rights. Here, we’ll see if there’s any
interference. SmackDown has the same goal as RAW
tonight; the only difference is that they have to leave us wanting. Since they are the last tidbit we get until
show time, they have to leave on a note that confirms us for definitely tuning
in on Sunday. Most of us will anyway but
if they can get us more into a state of curious anticipation, I think they
would have the job done. That’s a
realistic goal. As for the We, funny
tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites, stay stingy. This is the last chance until Sunday. Demand they act like it.
In other news, we’ve got company coming over for this evening so I won’t be able to catch the West Coast feed but I will catch up on
Wednesday at 8:30pm PDT. So, if you too
have other things to do this evening, feel free to take the rain check and cash
it in tomorrow night. We’ll rewatch
together. I’ll be tweeting as I did last
time with "RE: #SDLive -". I’ll also be
reposting on Reddit and the Twitters, just to remind everyone. You kids have fun tonight.
See You in a Bit,
