Here's that Elimination Chamber Everyone's Talking About...
A Good Sunday to You, Enthusiasts!
And so, we have made it.
We have the precursor to WrestleMania in the form of Elimination Chamber
and it would seem that this is a chance for all the less popular players to prove
they’ve got something to offer. With a good showing, they not only can gain
more respect but TV time as well. I don’t mind this at all.
I’m all for people giving us something to talk about. And since we are paying customers this time
around, the onus is on them to deliver anyway.
This is a bad time to have people asking for their money back.
Since the very the nature of the show forces us to wait
and see, I won’t
speculate on any of the matches but I will comment on a few I find
interesting. No harm in that. Daniel Bryan going up against Drew Gulak has
some intrigue because it is practically my case and point of the evening. Gulak has made a name for himself on 205 Live
and is now getting his chance to get some more mainstream action opposite of
the well-established Bryan. Here, it’s clear that it will be on Gulak to prove he won’t be a waste of time out there.
One match I'm definitely not sure about may be the RAW Tag Team Championship that
has Seth Rollins the odd man out. The
Street Profits are adapting to the Major League curve and have been fun to
watch. Buddy Murphy has also proved
entertaining on the Big Stage which puts Rollins in a position to keep
pace. We’ll see if he helps or hinders these up and comers.
Aleister Black facing off against AJ Styles shouldn’t disappoint as they box for bragging rights. Styles and The OC have made it clear that
they have beef with Black so we may get a little drama and interference on this
one. Yet the one match that may have a little trouble is the 3-on-1 Handicap
Match with Braun Strowman going up against Les
Artistes in the form of Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura with Le Manager Sami Zayn bring up the rear.
This could be the bathroom break because on paper it appears to be not much
more than novelty as they stand as pins for Strowman to knock down but we’ll see if they actually make this a match. In this case, the players have to earn their
keep so, we’ll
see if they manage.
As for the rest, name of the game is staying
relevant. As much as this could be
viewed as a throw away PPV, it could also be seen as progress report for these
performers. A good showing can ensure them more televised action as a bad one
may prompt them to consider their career direction and options. This may be a very telling evening in more
ways than one. In that respect, I’m very curious about the results. Funny tweets will get retweeted and as for
Likes/Favorites, we’ll
see who shines and who falls flat. Don’t be too cruel but don’t hold back either.
We owe these people the truth.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis
