SmackDown Fallout - Crown Jewel V (2023)

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts!

Is this a good Friday for you? I’ve had better but I’ve also had worse so the complaints will be minimal. So, there are few morsels to dance on the palette today. Let’s see how they sit.

The first bit of business is a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to Carmella and Corey Graves for welcoming their first child, a beautiful baby boy! What really stands out is that it took Carmella 60 hours of labor to achieve the feat. Good God, girl! Nevertheless, the new, happy family are doing well and I’m sure Carmella will be resting for the rest of the year. Enjoy the blessed early Christmas present. 

In other news, there are reports that The Rock a.k.a. Dwayne Johnson has been approached by a few factions about running for president. Oi, given recent years and with Donald Trump hovering around the docket, I’m not sure this is a good idea. It just makes America more like Idiocracy if we go through with it, especially if he does so with no real experience in the political arena. 

Yes, The Rock is charismatic but is he a politician? How would he handle the situation in Ukraine or the Hamas/Israel conflict? Or domestic problems like homelessness and the construct of the Healthcare system? Does he have valid, doable answers to those sorts of questions? I don’t. And I don’t know many who do. 

Moreover, in a case like The Rock, he’d probably have a ton of advisors telling him what to say and the policy would look good on paper but I doubt it ever gets actualized. This is an idea I think only works in satire and in theory. The Rock would have to prove different.

Elsewhere in the WWE Universe, there’s rumblings that LA Knight may have some heat backstage. That rumor floated through on Thursday and now today, the word is that he’s great! Apparently, Booker T. started the heat talk. Could he have been simply stirring the pot? I’m not sure if Booker would be considered a Heel or Face commentator at present but he may just be giving Knight something to work with.

The only real problem with Knight is his lack of WWE clout. He’s been slanging in the Industry but to WWE he’s relatively new and somewhat unfamiliar. It took a little while for the Crowd to catch on to how Knight works and he has to make up a lot of ground in a short amount of time. I think Booker may just be throwing him a bone to make the proverbial soup with. 

A little adversity never hurts in this business and Booker may just be adding a little gas to the fire to see if it helps. It’s either that or there’s some sort of minor beef but meh, that seems a tiresome angle if true so, let’s just hope there’s method to Booker’s madness. 

So, that brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. It’s the completion of Fallout from Crown Jewel. We can expect to see Bayley address the state of affairs of Damage CTRL. Bobby Lashley will help break Carlito back in and LA Knight will take his business up with Grayson Waller. That could be a fun back and forth. We’ll see what they get up to and the rest of the evening’s festivities during the 8 o’clock hour. That’s Pacific Time over here. You’re always welcome to the unofficial watch party.
