RAW Gasses Up the Jet for Bash in Berlin...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Enjoying your Monday? It’s Go-Home Week for Bash In Berlin and it comes off the heels of AEW’s All In PPV that was held in London last weekend. The social media feeds are mostly filled with this but there is other chatter slipping through. Up for a little discussion? Let’s see what’s going on.

As I said, AEW had their All In PPV and it sounds like it was a success for the most part. Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan got his Championship ahead of potentially segueing into part-time status and getting neck surgery. By most accounts, his match with Swerve Strickland was match of the night. I’ll have to see if I can catch a look at it somewhere. Toni Storm and Mariah May got some praise as well and Mercedes Moné got honorable mention for doing what she could with Britt Baker.

Not sure what’s going on with Baker, but most accounts are saying Baker phoned it in at best. Not the best look with all the bad press circulating. At the very least, back yourself up in the ring. Could this be the beginning of the end for her or is this just set up for a gnarly heel turn? Don’t have enough insight to make the best guess but if she’s not doing it on purpose, she definitely has some thinking to do.

I’ll also touch briefly on Ricochet’s debut. I think this is the right move for him at the moment. He can get some of the attention and notoriety he deserves. WWE likes an imposing fellow and Ricochet just isn’t scary. Doesn’t mean he’s not cool, though. AEW should be a good platform for him to just get some eyes on him and some clout underneath him. Should he ever come back to WWE, he should have more to work with to be more of a top card player. I wish only the best for him.

In the WWE Universe, there are reports that Rikishi isn’t so happy with how Jey Uso is being handled. He thinks WWE should have a better plan for him. I don’t disagree but given how things seem to work in this universe, I’m not sure what they would do with him. Jey isn’t intimidating so, though he can hold his own in the ring, with upstarts like Bron Breakker storming through and tough old hands like Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton around how does Jey believably hold his own?

I don’t mind the YEET wave of positivity Jey’s riding on but I’m not sure where it goes from here. With what’s in play, I think for now the best thing to do is to figure out how he plays into the Bloodline drama. With 2.0 taking control, Roman Reigns needs allies. I don’t see why Jey and potentially Jimmy can’t be brought back to the fray with a humble plea for familial solidarity. Seeds probably should be planted soon so that they can start to sprout come Survivor Series.

In the meantime, I think Jey just needs to make the most of his appearances and continue to keep it light and fun. He was trying for an Emmy in the past and this is just not the medium to be angling for any validity in terms of performance. Wait for a guest spot on something and lay it all out there. But the WWE Universe doesn’t want to think too much. We’re here to be entertained so keep the action sharp and the hijinks funny and Jey should be fine while people search for something more fitting for him. He should probably be thinking about more for himself too. If it works, it works. For now, what he’s doing suffices. If he wants to do more, he may have to conjure it and workshop it. All power to him.

We’ll end the updates with a positive note as Mama Owens, Kevin Owen’s mother, appears to be doing a lot better. I’m not sure what ailed her but it’s nice to hear she’s recovering. Hopefully she sticks with us a couple more decades. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Owens Family.

And so, that pretty much brings us to tonight’s RAW. Bash In Berlin awaits us on Saturday and so the final pieces are being laid. Randy Orton is going to talk a little shit before throwing down with GUNTHER again. The Judgment Day will see if Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley want some more of them. I’m sure they’ll happily oblige. Braun Strowman has had just about enough of Bronson Reed throwing his weight around. A #1 Contender Tournament begins to find someone to face Bron Breakker. And we’ll see what Uncle Howdy/Bo Dallas has got as he faces Chad Gable for in his first official match since re-debuting.

Looking at my X/Twitter feed it looks like some fun is had tonight. Glad to see it because that what Go-Home Shows should be all about. They’re supposed to get us hungry for the big show. So far, so good and it wasn’t so long ago that was sometimes the case. Is it perfect, no but it’s improving and leaps and bounds better than what it was. Gotta start somewhere.

The unofficial watch party is at 8pm PDT.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
