SummerSlam 2024 - SmackDown Fallout

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Well, the relocation of my family has occurred, after that, I will have to relocate. There’s no way I’m staying here (^_~) Not that they’re awful, it’s the place. We’re basically in the desert and it shows. I’m cityfolk. I just don’t get this place, but I’ll visit from time to time.

As for the Wrestling World, there are few rumblings. We’ll start with the possible exit of Bobby Lashley. Word is that his contract is up this weekend. According to a recent interview, Lashley revealed that he was injured and seemed to need about 6 months to heal. Yet, Lashley being Lashley, he’s nearly back to being up and running at full speed in just 2 months. In about a month’s time, we should know what’s up. We will stay posted.

In contracts getting re-upped and anted, LA Knight can stand a testament to hard work and commitment as he has convinced Management of his worth. What’s circulating through the grapevine is that he signed a nice new contract that includes a hefty pay bump. Got plenty of reasons to say, “YEAH!” now. Well, it’s always nice to see good work rewarded. He may not be the finest wrestler but he’s very entertaining and in this universe, that’s enough. A hearty congratulations to the man.

To close, Bron Breakker is apparently down to end John Cena’s career. Feels it would be a fitting close to him and fine opening for his youngblood. I see his point but given his brash persona, I’m not sure that does justice to the Cena’s legacy. Say what you will about the past 20 years. Cena made the most of what he had to work with and excelled. Go ahead and be mad if you want to. Personally, I feel Cena deserves better.

However, I see the potential in Breakker and I don’t think he should be excluded from the story. Perhaps they should cross paths along the way, but given his mild arrogance, I say Cena should psych him out with some veteran moves just to prove why you can’t see him. Why do him dirty during his final curtain call? Breakker should try and fail and in doing so, gives himself motivation for the future.

And so that’s my take on it. As for tonight’s SmackDown, the big theme is the return of Roman Reigns. Apparently, plenty of people have made it clear that his presence has been missed and so, in this case, ask and WWE shall allow us to receive. We can also expect to see DIY take on Pretty Deadly to get back into that Tag Team Championship hunt. Jade Cargill will perform for her Progress Report against Alba Fyre. Andrade sees if Santos Escobar can keep up and LA Knight gets to celebrate a few things. Won’t you join him? 😉

Unofficial watch party starts at 8pm PDT. Come play along if you missed the first party. We try to have fun and I get there. Can’t speak for anyone else.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
