SmackDown Opts for a Dash of Christmas Spirit...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Happy Friday! So, Netflix is making it a little difficult for the East Coasters with the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua bout going on tonight. I have it on in the background but since I’m on the West Coast, I don’t anticipate much overlap but the DVR is already covering that potentiality.

As for the Wrestling World, there’s not that much going on but there is some talk floating around so, we’ll have a little gossipy chat and get on with it and so, here we go.

In the Realm of AEW, things appear to be going along smoothly. MJF made his return and I wonder how long that lasts ‘cause he should have a part to play in the Future. I feel he’d be a great person to bring about the “beginning of the end” so to speak. I’m waiting for him to take time off again, hopefully to do another film or cameo somewhere. Upon his return, his “detached viewpoint” could be what really starts things off. We’ll see if the AEW Powers That Be agree.

As for Our Man Moxley, he was surprisingly above board this week while facing Roderick “Krista’s Dad” Strong. Remember, I don’t know if the man has kids, he just looks like someone’s dad to me. You wouldn’t think he wrestled until you saw him at work. Like, “Isn’t that Krista’s Dad?…” sort of thing.  Anyway, Mox took him out clean in the Continental Classic Tournament and in his following promo, seems to pride himself in the chaos he brings to the party. Yes, he does know how to mix it up and at the moment, reasonably so. Which is not a bad thing. There should be periods of “clarity” and “calm”. It’s when he gets “triggered” that’s the problem. We’ll see if the seams start to give anytime soon. Ultimately, it depends on how the tournament proceeds but with 2026 approaching, the Future will soon begin to manifest. I’m curious as to how they’ll do it.

As I keep stressing, the key will be having fun with it. This should be a blast when it’s all said and done. It shouldn’t be done with too much gravitas. I expect there to be quite a fair bit of humor as it all comes crashing down. We’ll see if everyone can nail the assignment. I’m not doubtful but we’ll see.

In the WWE Universe, we have some real time rumors circulating as there’s talk of Nikki Bella entertaining the advances of this kid Cooper DeJean who plays cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles. She’s old enough to be his mom, so…I don’t know about that. I personally try to avoid that dynamic but they’re both adults so…it’s technically okay. We’ll see if it gets any legs.

Elsewhere in the WWE Universe, GUNTHER has officially told fans to get over it when it comes to his retiring of John Cena. I knew that he would and it’s completely on brand so, not even mad. I think he can have fun with it and he should. Now, will he ever face the OG Legend Killer in Randy Orton anytime soon? πŸ€” I’m down. We shall see.

In any case, that brings us tonight’s SmackDown. Word is that some of it’s been pre-taped so, we’ll see what’s what. Regardless, we can expect Giulia to stay fight-ready courtesy of Alba Fyre. Nia Jax and Lash Legend will see if they can squash the Kabuki Warriors. The Wyatt Sicks’ Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy will try to spook the Bloodline 2.0 Juggalos and Solo Sikoa to retain the Tag Team Championships. And Cody Rhodes will tell us where Drew McIntyre can stick it, probably to start.

Like I said, I should be able to watch as usual at 8pm PST but if the Paul vs. Joshua bout runs long, I’ll be joining after. You know where to find me either way.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
