RAW Clears Our Heads for Elimination Chamber...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Welcome to Monday. It’s
another week another dollar, yes? Well, things are pretty quiet in the Realm of
AEW but the WWE Universe has some news to contemplate. It’s nothing too weighty
but it does have plenty of WrestleMania implications and may explain why we’re
on the path we’re currently on. Shall we break it down? Let’s jump into it.
So, it appears that getting
a hernia is some sort of coming-of-age process for the new top stars as Bron
Breakker has had surgery to correct one recently, putting him out of commission
for the foreseeable future. As many of you may remember, Roman Reigns had a similar
injury way back when which sidelined him for a few months, putting plans for
him on ice at the time. It was kind of a big deal as they still presented him
as everyone anxiously awaited his return.
Those were different times
however, and now that WWE is functioning more like a typical promotion, more or
less, it’s unlikely that we’ll get periodic updates. The New Vision now has to figure
out how they’re going to fill the void, while Breakker has to prepare to return
to a new landscape. I don’t mind this, however. I think the very believable
pressure of losing your place should be something our players should face from
time to time. This train doesn’t stop so if you’re sidelined, it may be just
that much harder to return because everyone has moved on. Are you even still
relevant? It will be up to players to prove so. It’s an easy way to foster character
development.
In the meantime, just
looking at the current state of affairs, I would say either Heyman tries to
enlist Brock Lesnar and we’ll see if WWE feels like paying him or they jumpstart
someone like Royce Keys fka Powerhouse Hobbs. I would say Oba Femi but Femi
looks set for his own rise but Keys/Hobbs has to be broken in for most of us
so, this may be a good way to give us a look at him if he’s willing to be a “hired
thug” for the time being. I don’t see Heyman having “open auditions” though,
that could be funny but given his lore, he seems a man who can solve his own problems.
We’ll see how they handle it.
That pretty much brings us
to tonight’s RAW. The Elimination Chamber is the name of the game as we
have Qualification Matches for the Men and Women. The Ladies will offer up Ivy
Nile, Rhea Ripley and Lyra Valkyria. Sadly, Nile looks to be the extra Star
Trek crew member that gets beamed down, never to return but we’ll see if she goes
down swinging. The Men offer up LA Knight, Penta (Lucha-Mitsu) and Austin
Theory for theirs. It can go any which way in that one but I’m leaning towards
Knight. We can also expect Nattie to see what else Maxxine Dupri has to cry
about. And The Usos will give Alpha Academy’s Otis and Akira Tozawa a chance to
claim Tag Team gold. I don’t think it happens but I think they’ll put on a
better show than many would give them credit so, let’s have it.
It’s another 6:30pm showing
so, get ‘em while they last. This will be the last month, that much I can say. Swing
by if you got the time. Let’s see how they pivot in light of these “setbacks”.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
