RAW Focuses on Elimination Chamber...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Happy President’s Day to those who have the day off. It’s a nice day to
stay at home in Southern California. It’s a cold and wet one. As for the
Wrestling World, there are a couple things to chat about so that should keep
things short. Ready to get into what little there is? Let’s do it!
Over in the Realm of AEW they had their Australia Grand Slam where the
Riders of Death were quite busy. The Future slowly approaches but in the
meantime, we are getting a look at Jon Moxley’s better qualities. He’s not so bad,
just misunderstood π In any case, his
match with Konosuke Takeshita for the Continental Championship concluded with a
draw due to the 20-minute time limit and it left them with a lackluster Crowd.
To end things on a high note, Mox gave Takeshita some "incentive" to take him out to
give the match a definitive end. Takeshita obliged and Mox officially took one
for the team.
Most fans are praising this move and I certainly have nothing to say
about it. It was an honorable move. And later in the evening, when Marina
Shafir and Wheeler Yuta lost their match against “Timeless” Toni Storm and
Orange Cassidy, Yuta punked out and tried to bail on the stipulation. Loser was
to shave their head and since Yuta ate the pin from Storm, he got the honors of
getting his head shaved. He tried to say, “Fuck that!...” and bounce Mox played
respectable leader and pointed Yuta back to the ring. A deal is a deal, apparently
and Yuta got his head mostly shaved. Hopefully the job was completed backstage ‘cause
they left him looking a mess.
Kayfabe-wise he kinda deserves it but again, it’s Moxley’s admirable
conduct that gets some attention. Is this the new and improved Mox? Is he a
changed man? Not sure what prompted the “epiphany” but it makes the Future
interesting. How will it manifest? Well, we’ll see how the Riders fare first. Daniel
Garcia has been eating a lot of pins recently and Yuta showed some defiance so,
we’ll see if that leads to any dissension.
It’s easier to foresee the Future when Mox is acting inappropriately but
that doesn’t mean it won’t take shape. AEW will just have to be a bit more
creative in bringing it to be. There’s time so, let us observe and see if they
come up with something intelligent. Papa Christian and Uncle Edge have been out
of the picture of late and I see Papa Christian having something to do with the
“final push” but we’ll see how/if he ever factors. There’s a lot of time still
on the clock. There remains no need to rush. I’ll be watching.
Over in the WWE Universe, preparation for Elimination Chamber continues.
On tonight’s RAW, we can expect to see AJ Lee contemplate returning to
action against Becky Lynch for the Intercontinental Championship. Liv Morgan
will continue to weigh her options for which Title she plans to pursue.
Qualifying Matches continue for Elimination Chamber as the Ladies offer up Asuka,
Bayley and Nattie. That’s a good one on paper. The Men have Je’Von Evans,
GUNTHER and Dominik Msyterio going for it. We’ll see who gets up to what in
that one. Then CM Punk will wax poetic as he contemplates the 2 battles that
await him. Finn BΓ‘lor next week and, if all goes well, Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
I’ll be getting started again at 6:30pm so get it while the getting’s
good. I’ll be going back to West Coast normal come March. It’s just simpler
that way. You guys know where to find me.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
