RAW Picks Up the Pace, Just a Little...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Welcome to another
Monday. Hope you had a good weekend. I found mine recuperative. We’ll see what
this week holds. There’s a little bit to talk about in the Wrestling World so,
let’s have a little chat. Here we go!
In the Realm of
AEW, the Revolution PPV was had and there were some surprises. The most notable
of which being Ronda Rousey proving to be an ally to Marina Shafir. For me,
this is an indication of the Future. How exactly it goes I can’t yet figure but
I can see Shafir skipping out on the Riders of Death in time to side with her “more
popular friend” yet that all depends on how often Rousey is going to be around.
Given Rousey’s
reputation, I don’t see her wanting to play “second fiddle”. She could easily
make Shafir choose since Rousey is offering up her “valuable time”. Could this
be the first crack in the Riders’ resolve? We’ll see. It is still quite early
yet, but I like the possibilities. More than I would have expected.
As for Jon
Moxley’s epic match against Konsuke Takeshita, it was a slow burn but it got up
to speed in the end. Takeshita was the one to wear red for once and you know
what, it looked good on him. Takeshita is kinda pretty and that can make it
hard to take him seriously as a formidable competitor. Not shying away from
wearing the black eye helped and getting cut open did add a little edge to the
understated hero.
For all his efforts,
Moxley won out but we can see that it was more for the future as this marked
the return of Will Osprey. Personally, I thought the little vignette to
announce his return was silly. He’d have that perceived clout if he wasn’t so
choreographed. He can’t get out there and dance. All the moves have to be cleanly
marked. Moxley is not the best wrestler but he can “dance”. If anything, his
style is the exact opposite of Osprey’s and Mox blowing the whole thing off was
perfect. I would have too ๐
In any case, I would
have this have Future implications as well. This could be the catalyst that
starts the beginning of the end. The return of Osprey could trigger Mox to slip
back into “old ways”. We’ll see how they play it. I’m not sure what Osprey is
like IRL but that display makes me think he may take himself a bit too
seriously. If that’s so, they’ll have to be subversive if this will have any
indication of what’s to come. I’ll keep an eye on it.
Over in the WWE
Universe, we continue to prepare ourselves for WrestleMania. I hear that in
honor of 3/16 or otherwise Steve Austin’s Day, ticket prices were dropped
for the big event. I’m thinking that’s just for the day but we’ll see if they
keep ‘em low until showtime.
As for the
action on tonight’s RAW we can expect to see Maxxine Dupri attempt to
get some payback on Nattie. There’ll be a Battle of the Americanos. Stephanie
Vaquer will see if Raquel Rodriguez has learned anything since their last showdown.
Brock Lesnar gets a more “formal” introduction to Oba Femi. Bayley will see how
attached AJ Lee is to the Intercontinental Championship and Roman Reigns will
probably have a thing or 2 to say to CM Punk.
We got a couple
more early starts left so catch them while the getting’s good. We should be up
and running by 6:30pm PDT tonight. Get yourself comfortable if you have the luxury.
See You in a
Bit,
-Nicole
Alexis (^_~)
