SmackDown Does Its Leg Towards WrestleMania...

Merry Friday, Enthusiasts!

I hope it’s a good one for you. So, there are some things to talk about but nothing too Earth shattering. Shall we get into the chatter?

So, the biggest news is that Jeff Hardy is now officially on the AEW roster. WWE dropped the ball on this one, but it may not be all that bad. As much as I like Jeff Hardy, he’s been dated for a while. Don’t get me wrong, he still has “It” but he’s going to stay in 2001 for the rest of his life. Plus, he’s never been that great on the mic. Granted, WWE doesn’t always give a person the best shit to say but he never got the hang of sounding natural with his lines. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hardy retires with WWE in the end. That may seem farfetched at the moment, but it all comes down to his appeal factor. Dated as he is, he’s still engaging and entertaining and that sells. We’ll see if AEW puts him to good use but if they don’t, WWE may lure him back with an apology and a fat paycheck.

In AEW to WWE news, the rumors surrounding Cody Rhodes continue to swirl. I’m beginning to feel that’s all on purpose so there’s more surprise/pop when he does return. That’s fine. I don’t mind the suspense. I just hope that they make good use of him. Though his style may not be universally appreciated, he gives it 110% and that’s what I’m alluding to when I suggest that he and WWE get honest with each other. Rhodes has plenty left in him and he brings plenty to the table. Both should be open about what can work so that they can find what does. He’s basically family and he should be accepted and respected. I’m rooting for them.

As for lighter news, Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville are having fun with their WrestleMania build. Knoxville supposedly exposed Zayn’s phone number to the skies of Los Angeles, making it public. Thems good shenanigans if you ask me. That’s all they have to do with this. Prank it up. Get some laughs and have a ball at WrestleMania. It’s simple but not exactly easy. Hopefully, they can lead with example on this one.

So, that brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. We know there are some weeks until WrestleMania so we’re still wading through No-Man’s Land. Both Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey are supposed to be in attendance tonight. Sasha Banks & Naomi plan to re-team to take on the current Tag Team champs, Carmella & Zelina Vega. And Big E. & Kofi Kingston face Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura. Everything else we gotta tune in to see. Take it easy and don’t get too riled up. They may be stumbling around but they are looking for that magic combination. Let’s hope they find it someday.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
