RAW Tries a Few More Things...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Well, there’s not all
that much going on in the wrestling world at the moment but there’s enough to
have a little chat. Let’s not waste any time and get into it.
So, given Ricky “The
Dragon” Steamboat is going to have a match soon, Ric Flair has reconsidered his
“retirement”. There’s no date set but the man plans to get back into the ring.
I don’t know why. Well, I can figure but the point of the matter is that he’s
old. That’s compounded by his former lifestyle. He’s 73* meaning that * comes
with about 15 additional years of wear and tear so he might as well be about
90. Trainwreck aficionados will be up for it, but I simply don’t like the idea
of an old man slowly killing himself out there, even if the gentleman in question
finds it fun. I won’t be looking out for this one.
Over at AEW, another
former WWE roster member in Buddy Matthews/Murphy is also taking some time off.
It’s hard to say if he’ll return to AEW. He may want to try his hand again at
WWE now that Triple H is running things. I wouldn’t mind this, especially with
his lady, Rhea Ripley, over there. There is incentive yet, I would only say that
they should find something for him to do. He did a good job of keeping people
curious about his antics but getting slapped with Rey Mysterio’s daughter for
no reason didn’t really help him. Yet, with Judgment Day holding Dominik Mysterio
hostage, there may be a way to come full circle on the idea. We’ll see how this
all plays out.
In the WWE Universe, a dose
of reality has made itself felt as Drew McIntyre is recovering from food
poisoning. He should be just about recovered now. Those sorts of bugs only last
a few days but given how the line of work jostles one about, he may be out for
the week. Why tempt fate with the potential for accident. Hope his recovery is
going well. I remember my last bout with a stomach bug and it’s something that
you would probably wish upon a deserving enemy. It’s humbling in its nature 😉
So, that brings us to tonight’s
RAW. Looks like we should get some fine action as Sami Zayn is set to
take on AJ Styles. He’ll have Solo Sikoa in tow for backup and to help get Sikoa
up to speed. Sure, Sikoa was born into it but hanging out and working are 2
different things. Seth Rollins will take Rey Mysterio’s mind off the simmering “family
troubles” and Iyo Sky will size up Bianca BelAir without the title on the line.
If you want to know more, check your choice of social media or tune in for the
show. That’s what I tend to do.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis
