SmackDown Gets a Head Start on Clash in Paris...
How’s It Going Enthusiasts?
There are some things to chat about but what it concerns
is more about digital logistics than wrestling.
Shall we just get into it? Shouldn’t be a long post ‘cause of that. Let’s go.
So, that ESPN deal that forces us all to reconsider
our streaming services has dropped early. Instead of having until 2026 to think
about it, we’re being forced to make a decision now. Things are a lot easier
for international viewers but for those of us stateside, we have some decisions
to make.
I may have to cancel and resubscribe to HULU under
the Disney+ Bundle to make this work for me. I get HBO through them but I could
get that through another service I stream so I may just do that to make this
make some sense. Looks like Peacock will keep some WWE content so it’s not an either
or situation anymore. We’re being forced to consider how we get our fix.
Some commenters are still out mainly due to the point
I brought up previously. It’s just too expensive for a bunch of stuff they don’t
usually watch. $30 just for some wrestling is hard for many to validate. I’m
sure the respective Brass is waiting to see how this goes in September to gauge
whether it’s worth offering cheaper tiers.
Some with cable subscriptions that have ESPN should
be covered but that doesn’t go for customers under providers like YouTube TV, Sling
TV or Cox Cable. If you got Spectrum or Xfinity, you should be good for now
anyway. I’ll wait until September to make a final decision. I have to do some
research first.
In the meantime, that leaves us to tonight’s SmackDown.
It’s abroad in Ireland for the lead up to Clash in Paris next week. We can
expect to see what R-Truth has on Aleister Black. The Motor City Machine Guns
are going to see how long the pairing of Carmelo Hayes and The Miz lasts. The
Street Profits will try to hang tough against the Bloodline 2.0. Charlotte
Flair will see if she can stay upright against the formidable Piper Niven and John
Cena will talk a little bit about Logan Paul before he takes a bite out of him
next week.
Cooking is easy tonight so there should be minimal
distractions. The unofficial watch party will start at 8pm PDT. You know where
to find me if you want to play along.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
