SmackDown Visits Lyon Before Going to Clash in Paris...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Well, there are some things to talk about but we’ll only focus on a few. I think you probably have an inkling so, why delay. Let’s hop right in.
Out in the wilds of the Indies, that incident with Raja Jackson appears to be realer than many may have thought. It got general news traction so something wasn’t right. Apparently, there was some sort of “interaction” backstage that may have led to Jackson going as far as he did. That doesn’t condone the action but it explains what we saw.
Personally, I think this might have been a publicity stunt gone wrong. Jackson being the son of a decorated UFC fighter, I can see why they’d want to display him as “no joke” but the takedown wasn’t done properly and whatever buzz they tried to get going, turned into outrage. That’s where the kid being green comes into play, I would say. Regardless, it forces Rikishi to reevaluate how to move forward. You live and learn, no matter your age.
Regarding the Realm of AEW, I went ahead and took a look at that big ole Steel Cage Match they had at Forbidden Door just to see if there were any hints at the Future and you can certainly say that there were. Jon Moxley “mutilating” Darby Allin’s ear with a fork is mild foreshadowing if you ask me π but I’ll give the match its props as it was well-executed overall, even if there was more blood than I cared to see.
It all played in well to this week’s Dynamite that had Allin calling Mox out. But I also have to give some kudos to the up and comer Daniel Garcia. His match with Mox was okay but it was his emotional promo that caught my interest. He was impassioned and relatable though a bit remedial but endearingly so. You felt for the guy and his personal struggle to get things right. It doesn’t necessarily get easier, kid but you get a better idea of where you stand is all the advice I can offer. We’ll see if Mox tries to “steer him another direction”.
Over in the WWE Universe, congratulations are due to the Rhodes Family. I didn’t even know Brandi was pregnant but they welcomed a new baby girl recently. Looks like Naomi’s baby will have a playmate waiting in the near future. Mazel Tov!π
As for the night’s action, don’t forget it’s the SmackDown Go-Home Show for Clash in Paris. We can expect Mia Yim taking on Kiana James to get a shot at Giulia. The Street Profits will try to plow through Carmelo Hayes and The Miz to get a chance at the Tag Team Titles again. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair will dangle the Tag Team Titles in front of Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre. And at some point, John Cena will have some final words for Logan Paul after Paul’s cheap shot last week.
They’re in Lyon, France before heading over to Paris so, remember this is pre-recorded. Also, remember that the big show is on Sunday this weekend since it's a 3-day weekend for us in the States. I’ll get settled in at 8pm PDT tonight for the action. Feel free to join me if you prefer a “quiet” night in.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
