SmackDown Attempts to Make Something Out of Nothing for Survivor Series-War Games....

 How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Well, I hope. There’s not all that much going on in the wrestling world today but there are a few tidbits we can chat about. Let’s get into it, shall we?

We’ll start with AEW as the news that grabbed me concerns MJF. Sounds like he slated himself to be one of the “great ones” as he feels he’s on pace to be on the same level of a John Cena or Hulk Hogan, mainly because of the response he can get from the crowd. I will give him that he’s an interesting phenom but he has yet to reach those levels of greatness. Only time will tell there but I don’t doubt he’ll make a great impression on the industry. However, he should note that anyone who says they’ll be “bigger than The Beatles” tends to never be. Let history be the determining factor.

In the WWE Universe, it sounds like Survivor Series has to come up with a Plan B due to Kevin Owens’ injury. He was scheduled for action this week but as we can all see, that’s not happening so we’ll see who gets to fill in. Be nice out there. Give whoever/whatever it is a chance.

Something I’m not quite sure how to feel about is the possible return of Matt Cardona/Zack Ryder. I was never quite sure how to feel about him because he was the resident jobber and the gig of it always puzzled me. Why would anyone want the job? I know he’s gone onto better things in other promotions but we all know they just don’t get the exposure that WWE does. How would he be reincorporated? Would he be promoted to the “Ultimate Jobber” or something. Like, it would be part of a sort of  rite of passage to go through Cardona/Ryder during one’s ascension or perhaps he would be the one to determine whether an up and coming wrestler gets to go on to the next level. Or he could be the “gate keeper” for NXT talent. If they win, they can get their passage to WWE. If they don’t, guess they stay in NXT. He could show up on either promotion that way. Just tossing out ideas.

In any case, SmackDown appears to be taking some time to get some of the less seen roster members some screentime. Shotzi Blackheart will take on Shayna Baszler for plots yet to be developed. Pete “Butch” Dunne will face Sami Zayn. And Ricochet and Mustafa Ali will battle for a spot in the new World Cup to honor the soccer event. The Twitters isn’t saying much but that’s to be expected these days. The platform is currently up in the air. We’ll see where it lands. So, just have some fun out there. Let’s see if we can make each other laugh.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
