SmackDown in the KSA...

How’s It Going, Enthusiast?

Happy Friday! So, there are few things to chat about today. Some stuff happened and WWE is over in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia so, we’ll be watching tape delayed action tonight and I’ll be checking in later tomorrow to watch the replay of the King & Queen of the Ring PPV. In the meantime, let’s see what’s going on, shall we?

Let’s start in the Realm of AEW. There’s some less fortunate news there as Jim Ross was hospitalized recently due to complications from the flu. As much as we respect the man, we know he’s not in the best of health and a sickness like the flu can be deadly. Fortunately, it sounds like they got on the problem fairly early and it sounds like he should recover so let’s keep him in our prayers.

Another AEW personality on the mend is Kenny Omega. Word is that he had surgery for diverticulitis last week. That’s going to take some getting used to and some definite recovery time so keep him in our prayers as well. That sounds like something that could go very wrong unintentionally so, a speedy recovery to the gentleman.

Also in AEW, sounds like we can expect MJF back in action next month. Reports state that he’s expected to return for their next Forbidden Door PPV. We’ll stand by and see if that happens.

In the WWE Universe, Triple H gets the opportunity to find a way to incorporate WWE fan, Patrick Mahomes into action. After Mahomes’ recent WWE appearance, he expressed a desire to get into the ring action. I think it’s only fitting since he carries 2 Championship Belts for his Super Bowl wins. He sported them so proudly that it almost seems like he should back it up in some way. We’ll have to stay tuned to see how he gets into the mix.

So, that more or less brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. It’s a special one because it was recorded live in Jeddah. I think that’s a first but I don’t feel the need to look it up and verify. The stakes are higher this time around as the winners respectively will get Championship opportunities. I think in recent years, you just got to wear a chintzy crown and gloat so that’s an improvement.

Tonight, we can expect Bayley to have a go-round with Chelsea Green. Doesn’t sound like it’s for any marbles. Nia Jax will try to advance to Queen of the Ring by surpassing Bianca Belair. That’s a tough call. Don’t expect Jax to play fair. Randy Orton will also try to stand in Tama Tonga’s way and given Tonga’s Bloodline ties, again, anticipate some “assists”. And at some point, Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul will face-off and talk a little shit before the showdown tomorrow.

As I said, I won’t be watching live but will catch up between 4pm - 5pm PDT on Saturday. I’ll do my best to post my Matches of Interest later tonight or tomorrow morning. I got business tomorrow as well. I’ll get it in before the day is through. Regardless, unofficial watch party is at 8pm PDT. Pick your platform and play along.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
