RAW Plans the Road Trip to Summer Slam...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Enjoying summer? I hope so, it definitely is warm out in the northwestern hemisphere. Well, there’s not that much going on in the wrestling world so, I’ll be brief. It’s going to be like that until Summer Slam unless something newsworthy happens. Let’s see what popped up on the radar in the meantime.

In the WWE Universe, we can prepare for the return of Roman Reigns at Summer Slam. I’m a little worried for Creative to be honest. People have high expectations for this so it would be a great pity if they didn’t hit the mark. That would have been expected a few years ago but now that they’ve found a winning formula, it would be quite the disappointment. Personally, I don’t have any inspired ideas but I’m sure it all depends on how he feels about Solo Sikoa.

Given that Reigns has suffered a recent personal loss, I would have him in “semi-retreat” mode. I’d have him “finding himself” and trying to understand “what it all means”. Though that may appear to be the makings of a Face turn, it doesn’t have to be. He could still be “off” on what the Bloodline is supposed to mean and Sikoa, as much as he may have been talking a big game, could suddenly backtrack and make it seem he was simply keeping the seat at the Head of the Table warm.

I can easily see Sikoa being two-faced and paying Reigns whatever lip service he needs to hear. I agree that at some point these 2 should have a showdown, but I’m not sure if the time is now. Yet, I can see Reigns not fully seeing the truth, maybe misconstruing Sikoa’s and the New Bloodline’s actions. I feel Reigns is not yet in a place to be truly righteous but he can recognize a personal affront. I can see Sikoa “slip up” or “get caught out” and have to answer for himself. Once or twice he may be able to provide a reasonable excuse but when it comes to strike 3, there should be consequences and whatever they are should lead to a match. The stakes being who gets to be the “real” Tribal Chief is the obvious conclusion but it doesn’t have to be the only conclusion. It could be between them, especially if Sikoa plays him for a fool. Respect should be the real underlying motivation for a showdown between them. I see it planting the seeds for the inevitable Bloodline split. Again, they can dovetail House of the Dragon/Game of Thrones  and have their own battles between the Greens and the Blacks 😉 But that’s just how I’d do it.

And so, that brings us to tonight’s RAW. We’re pretty much coasting to Summer Slam so all that we should be seeing are the bread crumbs leading up to it. As you all know, Rhea Ripley returns and it looks like she’s not taking any of Dominik Mysterio’s lip and who knows where Liv Morgan scattered off to. Drew McIntyre will return from “suspension”. I hear CM Punk promises to be nice but we’ll see if that happens. Gunther will start to get in Damien Priest’s face for that Heavyweight Championship. Sheamus will have a modified Hoss Fight with Bronson Reed and Sami Zayn will find himself mildly conflicted as he faces his ally (?) in the passionate Ilja Dragunov for the Intercontinental Championship. We’ll see if they maintain proper sportsmanship.

The unofficial watch party will be at 8pm PDT. Feel free to join in if you have to watch a tape delay like we do. It’s how we make up for being late.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
