SmackDown Fallout - MITB

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Happy Friday! Well, it’s a hot one here. Are you sweltering? Where I live now, it’s near the beach so summers stay relative comfortable but not this year. It’s reminding me of my inland days. It’s hot! But the world goes on so, let’s see what’s going on about the wrestling one.

We’ll start in the realm of AEW as they have quietly allowed a few contracts to expire. A couple noteworthy new free agents are CJ Perry/Lana and Ric Flair. Looks like AEW have done what they’re gonna do with them and now they are free to pursue their next endeavors.

Well, most feel Flair needs to hang it up and I don’t see WWE entertaining Perry/Lana without Miro/Rusev so, we’ll see what these 2 get into next. As usual, we wish them the best.

In other AEW news, word is Tony Khan is open to speaking with Shane McMahon if he really wants to entertain a run with AEW. I don’t know if he would be there in an on-air capacity or just sit on the board but it’s an interesting collaboration to consider.

I think some would think this proof that AEW and WWE are in cahoots but all I’m wondering is what would the angle be? Is Shane defecting? Is he playing big bad heel and threatening to pull AEW officially under the WWE umbrella? Is he just bored? That’s the only thing I wonder about if he’s to perform. If he’s just another exec., whatever.

In the WWE Universe, news is that a Stephanie Vaquer has been acquired. I know nothing about her but given all the buzz, I’m intrigued. We’ll see if she lives up to the hype. So far, all I’ve heard she’s suffered some sort of sexual assault while with her former promotion so, hopefully this is a healthy move for her. WWE at least can’t be too open about that sort of stuff anymore. In any case, good luck to her.

And so, that brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. I’m presuming we’re in No Man’s Land until Summer Slam so tonight we can expect Mia Yim to give Nia Jax a piece of her mind. Tiffany Stratton will gloat a little over her Money in the Bank win. DIY will do the customary title rematch with Austin Theory and Grayson Waller and Solo Sikoa will discuss the next bit of Bloodline business. Suppose we will see if Paul Heyman “survived” as well.

The Unofficial Watch Party will be at 8pm like always. Pick your platform and play along.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
