RAW Sets the November Schedule...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Welcome to Monday. Another day, another dollar as They say. We have a couple things to chat about as AEW had their WrestleDream PPV last weekend. The WWE Universe grumblings are minimal in comparison at present though we have some things to kick around. That should keep this post at a decent length so, let’s get into it, shall we? Here we go.

So, the highly anticipated “I Quit” Match between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley closed things out for WrestleDream as it could go for hours and hours given how these 2 were talking. Thankfully, it was about 35 minutes but I would say for the most part it was well-executed. Moxley was honest in how he was going to wear Allin down as he gave him plenty and then let the Death Riders get their hits in. Then he half drowned him in an aquarium before Sting made a cameo to “stop the nonsense” to give Allin the edge and win.

My only notes are that I feel Allin has to do more in these kinds of matches if he’s gonna do them. He’s 45lbs. So, for most spectators, that’s the major hurdle. How is he gonna put a dent in anybody? So, I’m all for Allin getting crafty and doing things to get the other guy to take himself out. Utilizing “weaponry” and whatever other tricks of the trade to even the playing field and pick up the believable W.

I respect Allin’s scrappiness and his willingness to face odds stacked way up against him but people generally don’t want to see some little guy get kicked around by a bigger guy. I don’t know if Allin is brothers in vice with Mox in being a masochist but he’s gotta come up with something so that these matches lead to intrigue rather than, “How is he gonna do this?...”

I didn’t mind Mox’s performance. It felt par for the course and appropriately kayfabe in tone. I even liked how he seemed to be on Allin’s side by pleading with the referee, saying Allin is out of his mind and won’t quit. He was trying to proceed with a sense of decency at least but is still willing to “kill him” if it goes that far. These aspects bode well for the future as it gives opponents fodder to build a case against him. He’ll think he’s in the right but others will point out how being willing to “kill someone” over a wrestling match is where he’s short of a full deck.

I also appreciated the little crumbs of foreshadowing peppered in the match. I won’t call them out because the Future should be allowed to manifest of its own accord but I saw them. Good work. This Moxley cat is smarter than he looks πŸ˜‰

Naturally, not everyone was happy with this display. I chuckled a little when the Crowd started chanting “This is murder…” *Clap Clap Clap-clap-clap* As it was nothing close to murder but as I said, Allin took most of the beating and that’s kinda hard to watch with him being 45lbs. but you can’t say he doesn’t have moxie. That’s for sure. He’s a tough little sumbitch. Regardless, if he wants to keep doing this sort of thing, he has to learn how to dish out more hits than he takes. Respect that he’s 45lbs. and let him get smart about ending fools. It’s doable. Let him have fun getting creative. That’s all I’m gonna say about that. We’ll see who the Riders of Death start to pick on next.

In the WWE Universe, injuries seem to be plaguing the scene. I’m getting early reports that Lord Seth Rollins has to relinquish the Championship so that he can go properly recover so, this injury is looking real but we’ll see. I can still see him crashing if CM Punk wins it again. You also know that will be a point of contention if the injury is real. If Punk wins it that will be the first thing Rollins is going to comment on. How it had to be done with Rollins out of the picture. I’m here for it but that’s probably how it’s gonna go. Makes sense is all.

Also dealing with an injury besides Rollins and Jacob Fatu is Rhea Ripley. Looks like a spot went a little wrong in Japan and Ripley got a broken nose for her trouble. Not sure if she’s going to take time off or get corrective surgery but that’s in effect. So, it’s wide open for the second string to step up. We’ll see who makes the most of the opening.

And that brings us to tonight’s RAW. We have a Saturday Night Main Event ahead of Survivor Series so November is looking to be a big month. I’m contemplating getting Peacock again since they gave me a promo code for a discounted rate for a few months. We’ll see if I take them up on it. In the meantime, we can expect The Judgement Day sending in their Tag Team Champs in Finn BΓ‘lor and JD McDonagh to face AJ Styles and Dragon Lee. Rusev will see if he can convert Dominik Mysterio. Lady Becky Lynch has to hold down the fort against Maxxine Dupri. And Paul Heyman will see how the throne feels as he, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed establish the new order.

I should be able to get going by about 6:30pm PDT so, I’ll be joining those already watching or getting a staggered start. This should be the case for the rest of the month at least. Should start going back to normal in November but we’ll see. So, if you got a couple hours to spare, feel free to join in. You know where to find me.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
