SmackDown Helps Wrap Up October...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
It’s another Friday and I
hope it’s a good one for you. There’s not much to report in the Wrestling World
and it’s pretty quiet in the WWE Universe so, it should be a short post for the
most part but there is some Fallout in the Realm of AEW so, we’ll talk a little
about that but that’s about it. Ready to hash it out? Let’s go.
It was business as usual in
the Realm of AEW for as much as I could tell. Darby Allin appears emboldened having won the “I Quit” Match and Jon Moxley, well…there appears to be some “regrets”.
This disappointment seemed to spill out during his match with Kyle O’Reilly. Having
shown that he is human, O’Reilly was not intimidated and was able to lock
Moxley up enough to make him feel the only recourse was to take out the referee
rather than tap. The brazen act caused the benches to clear and to me, that was
the first clear indication of what is to come. My friends, the Future has Begun.
Expect things to ramp up from
here. 2026 should be a very entertaining year. Let’s see if they can keep the
pacing reasonable. The key will be to not pop off too fast but to gradually
escalate the nature of the pop off, Moxley especially.
Commenters aren’t completely
out of it. They know the general rules of wrestling and many are anticipating the
breakup of the Riders of Death and have some good ideas of how it should happen.
I read one idea that they should turn their backs on Mox at some point and join
Allin. Well, this suggestion was for WrestleDream but that is simply too soon.
But with Mox…falling into “old patterns” shall we say, they should start to
question his ability to hold on to the plot. What was it again? Personally, I’d
have them start to drop off one by one but a group back turn would be a good
catalyst for the Future. It makes it clear things have gone off the rails. Mox
does not seem the type to convince anybody of anything. You’re either with him
or you’re not and that would be read as a betrayal. Where would he go from
there? π
Regardless of what they decide
to go with, the hints are there and it looks like the Future is a Go. I couldn’t
be happier and a bit surprised because I wasn’t sure it would be done but, Mox
appears to have the chops to pull this off and that’s what matters most. The
rest is a matter of execution. The set up is going well so far and if the
pacing keeps, 2027 will be a “pins and needles” sort of time. I’m looking
forward to it. The Future is not only Bright but it Approaches. By all means,
please proceed.
As for the WWE Universe, it's general business for the most part. I’m sure we’ll start to see who’ll fill in
the blank while Lord Seth Rollins recovers. They say he has gone in for surgery
but I’m still not sure I buy it. If he stays off TV, I will eventually but for
now, I’m suspecting shenanigans. Regardless, the show carries on.
For tonight’s SmackDown
we can expect Ilja Dragunov to carry on the tradition of the Open Challenge for
the US Championship. Kiana James will attempt to disrupt Tiffany Stratton’s “Tiffy
Time”. And Drew McIntyre will continue to not like…anything for the most part. Cody
Rhodes will try to keep him at bay but you know how McIntyre is. Everything is
always shite.
I’ll be cooking tonight but
it’s an easy meal. I’ll be nice and comfortable by 8pm PDT. All those who have
to wait to catch up, you’re free to swing by and have some fun. Same place as
always. Some things, you can count on.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
