RAW Makes Sure Everyone Going to Crown Jewel-Perth Is Ready to Go...

How’s It Going Enthusiasts?

Hanging in there? It’s all you can do sometimes. Well, there’s not much going on in the Wrestling World but there are a couple things to talk about. Are you ready for it? Let’s get into it.

So, we’ll start in the real world but WWE Universe adjacent as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson suffered a minor blow as his new movie The Smashing Machine isn’t doing too well at the box office. I don’t think this is a surprise as it’s an A24 offering and these are known for their quality as opposed to quantity however, post-COVID that basically translates to “a streamer”.  This is probably not a film you have to see on a big screen. Getting comfortable at home should do just fine and these days, many prefer it.

I have to admit my last trip to the movies was disappointing at best. It’s clear that though there may be some action this is not a big, flashy action flick so The Smashing Machine will probably recoup any losses over time. I’ll certainly check it out once it streams so, let’s hold our opinions until then.

Soon to be out of the WWE Universe, word is that Santos Escobar’s contract is up and he should be a free agent as of midnight this evening. I find this a bit of a shame but it’s not entirely surprising. Escobar has great presence and definitely a firm command of both English and Spanish as I was looking forward to my weekly or bi-weekly Spanish lessons πŸ˜‰ He was going make us understand one way or another and that is a commendable trait.

However, I can’t recall any of his matches and that is probably what the real problem was. He’s okay in the ring but has personality. WWE has a deep pool. Releases like this are bound to happen but it doesn’t make them any less unfortunate. I’ll say that Escobar probably lands in TNA. AEW may not have a place for him but I’ve been wrong before. I just think TNA, with its current WWE affiliation, is probably the safest route and who knows. It makes it easier to come back. We’ll see. But good luck to him in the meantime.

And that brings us to tonight’s RAW. It’s the Go-Home Show for the Crown Jewel Perth so the final pieces should slot into place. We’re led to believe that Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez factor. Lady Becky Lynch is doing her community service as she picks a fight with Maxxine Dupri. CM Punk will find some time to talk to the people. And Roman Reigns gets opening duties. Looks like he's gotta hop on a plane tonight or tomorrow as it appears they’re booking him for a showdown with Bronson Reed. Let’s see if he’s smart about it or requested more PTO.

I’ll be getting my replay on in a few minutes so, it may be another 6:30pm PDT start. Welcome all enthusiasts. I know many of you don’t see much of me ‘cause I’m usually at it later since I’m on the West Coast but for the time being, I have to get an earlier start on Mondays. The week’s duties call. Stop by if you’re curious or just got the time.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
