RAW Does a Little Ground Work for the Royal Rumble...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Here we are in the second week of January and we have some fun things to look forward to tonight. There’s some talk floating around, not sure how valid it all is but it’s there. Shall we chat a little?   There’s speculation that both Mercedes Moné/Sasha Banks and Naomi may make returns to WWE in the near future. There was a lot of chatter that Moné was heading to AEW but that chatter died down recently and everyone is kinda standing by with bated breath to see where she ends up.   Naomi sounded like more of a done deal but I haven’t heard much on that of late so, I don’t know how valid that rumor ever was. Regardless, I don’t mind either one returning. In a way, it makes sense. As much as she should see what the world holds, I think an inherent truth was already confirmed. WWE is far from perfect but it’s the pinnacle of the industry. If you can work there, why work anywhere else?   In other yet adjacent news, there’s some talk about when

RAW Gets Comfortable Ahead of Christmas...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts!   How’s everything going? Enjoying the final weeks of the 2023? I have to say, I’ve had worse. In any case, there’s not a whole lot to talk about but there’s a talking point or 2. Shall we get into it?   To start, it would appear that a few personalities of the wrestling industry are suffering some serious ailments or injuries. Kenny Omega is out due to complications of diverticulitis. CJ Perry/Lana is out with an infection and Charlotte Flair is out with a torn ACL. Bumps and bruises come with the trade but these parties will be out for quite some time as recovery is what’s key in these cases. Seems like a bout of bad luck for the most part. Take care of your health out there, people. You never know when you could lose it.   In other news, Roman Reigns’ appearance on SmackDown didn’t have quite the ratings spike that may have been anticipated proving, for now anyway, that CM Punk is in fact good for business. Say what you will about him

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Did you enjoy the weekend? I had a bit more going on than usual but enjoyed myself. As for the wrestling world, there’s not much to discuss but enough to have a brief post and chat so, let’s get into it. It shouldn’t take up too much of your time. I took a look at the Deadline PPV NXT had to offer seeing how it’s the last official offering of the year. I had some time to kill so I said, why not? There were a couple standouts in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. This Trick Williams certainly has some appeal though I’m not sure about the chant of his. Have a hard time seeing that on RAW or SmackDown . Being the pinnacle of the industry comes with some responsibility. I feel WWE should always err in favor of class. Leave the toilet humor and low-brow comedy for the likes of AEW. Williams will have to get something wittier than “Whoop that trick!” going but if he’s up for the big time, he should be up to the challenge. Can’t imply the beating of some phantom,

RAW Makes Way for the Holidays....

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts.   How’s every little thing? There’s a few things we can talk about tonight   in both WWE and AEW so, why beat around the bush. Let’s get into it.   We’ll start in the Realm of AEW as their Golden Boy, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) is sidelined with a shoulder injury. He’s still willing to play and after Cody Rhodes going to work with a torn pectoral muscle I can see him saying just tape me up and get me back out there. Yet, he is young yet and he doesn’t really have to prove anything so, let’s wish him well and hope for a quick recovery. It’s no fun sitting on the sidelines.   In the WWE Universe, there are more conceptual issues floating around. Grayson Waller is earning his legitimate Heel chops as he triggered a fan at a house show recently. To look at it, Waller is just doing his job. Some guy took it too serious and lost his shit and some face as he was roughly escorted out. It’s hard to sympathize. The name of the game is to get you

RAW Fallout - Survivor Series....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Still reeling from Saturday night? Well, I won’t say that I was that surprised at CM Punk’s return but I do commend the fake out. I was saying that if they do it, they would want to keep it a secret so all that “Naw, don’t want him…” talk was all on purpose. We were disinformed so that the magic could happen. Don’t have a problem with it. You have to admit it wouldn’t have been half as fun if it was known from the start.   Regardless, general consensus is that the Ladies’ War Games was Match of the Night but I have to say it was great seeing Randy Orton stroll in when he was good and ready. Classic Orton, if you ask me. And to close out the night we have Drew McIntyre marching out in a huff before the surprise drops and Seth Rollins remembering he never liked Mr. Brooks to begin with. It’s all for the drama in my opinion and all as it should be as well if you get how the game is played. The future looks very promising.   Well, tonight we get t

RAW Puts on the Primer for Survivor Series...

Happy Thanksgiving Week, Enthusiasts!   How’s everyone doing? We have Survivor Series to look forward to at the end of the week and RAW and SmackDown are doing their jobs to place the final pieces. Regardless, other things have been happening in the wrestling world. Let’s have a brief chat about it before circling back around.   So, there have been some acquisitions in the Realm of AEW. It appears Ronda Rousey is serious about a professional wrestling career and has decided to earn her chops in Ring of Honor. This I find commendable because I wasn’t really sure what Rousey was doing in WWE outside of the novelty of it but given how the Crowd is tough and not everyone was always interested, I wouldn’t be surprised if the experience was somewhat humbling.   She should get the ring-time that she needs to get up to speed and may even get more comfortable on the mic. I’m glad to see she wants to do this right and so, I wish her nothing but the best. I don’t know if she returns t

RAW Fallout - Crown Jewel V (2023)

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Did you get a chance to watch Crown Jewel? I thought it was fun. It was far more cohesive than previous shows and definitely felt less like an exhibition and more like a typical PLE/PPV, which I would call progress.  Most are saying that Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins was the match of the night. I think Sami Zayn stealing the MITB Briefcase at the end was what I liked about it but, to be honest, I preferred the main event. All the buzz with LA Knight and Roman Reigns made it an enjoyable way to end the night and both gentlemen appeared to have fun with it, which is always nice to see.  I would say that any LA Knight fans should calm themselves and prepare for a showdown with Logan Paul. Taking the US Title off of him I think is a good start for Knight. Though Paul is holding his own out there, he’s playing a dorky heel and those are perfect pickings for the likes of Knight. No one would mind that Title change and Knight officially gets on the map. Everyo

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Everything all right for a Monday? Well there are some subtle things floating around at the beginning of this week. My interests are more broad so, if you’re more of a diehard fan I may sound like I’m talking out of my ass but I’m only interested in certain things and only a couple of things caught my interest. Care to talk about them?   First item of business comes from the Land of MLW. Apparently, they have a faction call the Samoan Swat Team and yes, they do have some Bloodline ties. They were backing Jacob Fatu (The Usos’ and Reigns’ other cousin) but now, it looks like they’re free agents. Lance Anoa’i, as you can gather, is a cousin of Roman Reigns not sure if there is a direct relation to The Usos and it appears that Juicy Finau is a Tongan “adoptee”. Could we see them make their way as bit players in the Bloodline in the coming months? 🤷‍ I guess we shall see.   Following the Reigns theme, the wrestling trades are picking up a whiff

RAW Keeps Things On Schedule Ahead of Crown Jewel...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Hope your complaints are few, though I’m sure there’s plenty you could sound off about. It’s just that sort of time. There’s a lot going on in the world at present. Plenty to be concerned about. It’s no wonder I find my escape in wrestling/sports entertainment. Well, there’s not all that much going on at the start of this week but there are few things to toss around. Shall we? First up, AEW appears to be in a ticket sales slump. Hype for Survivor Series seems to be leaving them in the dust and it’s hard to say how they change things. I do take a look at what they’re doing from time to time just to compare and contrast and WWE is still the far more polished product. Good wrestlers are good wrestlers so that shows when they’re left to do their thing but a lot of the content reads as immature and juvenile, far more so than WWE current fare so that may be a bit of a hurdle. The last time I watched, the bro-humor was rampant and I’m not sure if everyone is a fan

RAW Tries to Keep Focus on Crown Jewel?...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts. How’s it going? Well, the Wrestling World doesn’t have too much going on so this should be a short post. Let’s break down what little is floating around, shall we? Reports are circulating that we can breathe easy given that with the WWE/UFC merger Ari Emanuel has taken it upon himself to keep Mr. Vince McMahon out of Creative. From what I’m hearing, it’s more to keep Mr. McMahon focused on running the business so that Triple H can focus on keeping us entertained.  Now, I know things used to be really bad. That’s the whole reason I started this blog. To talk shit about the crap they were putting on television. It was consistently barely palatable. If you ask my mom, it wasn’t palatable at all. There were some fun times but they were hard to call, that was for sure. Whoever is handling Creative now is doing a more consistent and cohesive job so, why go back to half-assed, crapshoots?  I know everyone has generally defaulted to blaming Mr. McMahon but

RAW Fallout - FastLane 2023

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   FastLane has come and gone and I’ll just say that I was a little underwhelmed but not exactly disappointed. There was a lot of lead up and I thought they’d do more with it but in the end, they defaulted to pleasing the fans and keeping the Men’s and Women’s Titles right where they are.   In that respect, the only real surprise was not pulling the trigger on Shinsuke Nakamura. That’s the only thing that I don’t fully understand. Given the lead up, all that leaves me to feel is if not now, when? What was all that for, then? I can understand the thinking that Seth Rollins is more interesting story-wise but Nakamura deserves to have his due. I guess we’ll see if WWE leaves him hanging or not.   As for Match of the Night, most felt Nakamura vs. Rollins took the cake. For me, I leaned more towards Jey Uso & Cody Rhodes vs. The Judgment Day with Damian Priest & Finn Bálor. It was a lot of fun and was well-paced. I was hoping for some more dra

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Can’t say I have all that much to report. Weekend was pretty chill. Though we do have something to talk about, there's not all that much in total so let’s just get into it. So, it’s official. Edge/Adam Copeland is now All Elite. He has made the jump to AEW and seems to be excited about the change. We’ll see if this works out for him. I’m not sure what to expect for him since I get the feeling he’ll be more appreciated behind the scenes than in the ring but who knows. I guess it all depends on how he holds up. His debut match is slated for Oct. 10 th against Luchasaurus. That could seem fun or ridiculous depending on your viewpoint. This is why I’m not quite sure how to feel but I do hope that it makes Uncle Edge happy. What seems clear is that we generally wish Edge well in his new endeavors and let’s just hope there’s a nice exit clause in his contract and that WWE is willing to take him back should things not work out. I’ll just leave it there. As we
