RAW Tells People to Go-Home for WrestlePalooza for the First Time...
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Enjoy your weekend? I went ahead and caved and got
the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN bundle. Had to do some redistributing and canceled Peacock
so, I think I’ll be breaking about even in the end. Since I did all this, I
sweetened things by getting the premium tier without ads. I usually grin and
bear ‘em but I figured, why not. Like I said, I break even when it’s said and
done so, might as well. I’m old enough π
As for the Wrestling World, most of the talk is in
the WWE Universe so, we’ll stick with that. The Future seems to be coming along
nicely so we’ll let it bake like a cake in a really low-heat oven. It doesn’t
need extreme oversight. A periodic glance should do.
So, in the WWE Universe, it appears that Andrade has
parted ways with WWE a second time. The reports are all over the place so, it’s
hard to say what happened. Some are saying there was a Wellness Policy
violation. Others are saying that he was no-showing events and being generally
unreachable. Andrade posted on X/Twitter thanking WWE so, it’s anyone’s guess
what’s going on. From what I’m basically gathering, it looks like he wanted out
of his contract but I’m just hypothesizing.
I’ll just say that Andrade seems to take himself too
seriously and because of that, I’m not sure where he fits. Spectators typically
understand that shows and matches are scripted so, we can’t exactly treat
people in this business like true champions. Great performers, no doubt, but their
wins were premeditated. They didn’t actually slay a dragon. Andrade came off as
if he wanted to be revered as if he slayed a dragon and so, I’m not sure he’ll
ever be satisfied. Guess we’ll see where he turns up next.
In other news, Xavier Woods had to go in for surgery
to get a benign, fatty mass removed from the back of his head. It was pretty gnarly
looking so, that must of have started bothering him. Thankfully, it was a pretty
routine procedure and he should fully recover but I hope he prepares for all
the jokes about to bombard him for having a “fat head”. That’s what happens
when you go “bad”.
That, for the most part, brings us to tonight’s RAW.
It’s the Go-Home Week for the inaugural WrestlePalooza and so, we can expect
Dragon Lee facing what appears to be numerous El Grande Americanos. Kofi Kingston
will see if he can handle Penta aka Lucha-Mitsu by himself. Roxanne Perez is up
for another go-round with Lyra Valkyria. John Cena is going to show up and
psych us and himself up for a showdown with Brock Lesnar. And the power couples
of AJ Lee & CM Punk and Lady Becky Lynch & Lord Seth Rollins will have
a final face-off before handling it in the ring on Saturday.
As I said last week, I’ll be getting started earlier
at about 7pm PDT for the next few weeks so, East Coasters and all those
in-between, welcome to my take on wrestling. It is what it is but I have fun
with it. If you don’t mind it, it’s not hard to find me.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis
