RAW Takes In a Little Texas Too...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

 

Welcome to another week. Well, it’s fairly quiet on the wrestling front at the moment so this should be a short post. But it does appear that the future should provide quite a bit to chat about 😉 Let’s just take it one day at a time.

 

Over in the Realm of AEW, the Riders of Death had another big night. Our Man Jon Moxley had main event duty while PAC tried on a more concentrated version of his persona. Seems like the masses don’t mind this particular focus.

 

PAC faced a guy from Alabama by the name of Adam Priest who put up a decent fight. They’re both stocky gentlemen so, at a glance it appeared well matched. Priest did what he could but it seemed pretty clear that PAC is angling for the next level which is fine. He’s got the respect and the skill to back it up so, you’ll hear no complaints from me. PAC got the job done and then it was up to fellow Rider, Daniel Garcia.

 

Not surprisingly, Garcia was not so lucky as he faced Andrade but it was what followed that was the real statement. The Riders and some of The Dogs came out to teach Andrade a lesson. This transpired sans Mox but PAC was there to lead the charge so, that seems to indicate a promotion within the Rider ranks.

 

We can safely presume that everyone was given warning regarding these “consequences”. Early in the show, Mox cut a promo explaining that though he regrets picking on Francesco Akira, eggs need to get broken to make an omelette. That’s apparently what Will Ospreay ordered, messing with him and the Riders of Death, that and a side of G-Force training. That’s what happens when you want to sit at the top.

 

This promo was classic Moxley if you ask me, talking crazy with a dash of Jim Morrison. Wouldn’t be surprised if that was inadvertent but that’s what it came off as. You kids will have to do the research but that guy got into trouble in the 60s, the rockstar kind. He was one of the OGs. Died young because of it.

 

In any case, it works great for The Future ‘cause…What the fuck are you talking about, man? He’s gonna make it too easy for ‘em to “call in help”. That’s what happens when you’re a threat to yourself and others and front a violent “cult”. I’m really intrigued to see how this all goes down. As long as it stays believable, exciting and fun, the outlandishness should be tolerated. I didn’t roll my eyes so, I’d say so far so good. Please proceed. The Future Looks Bright.

 

Over in the WWE Universe, things are relatively quiet as we prepare for Money in the Bank. There was some confusion at the end of the latest SmackDown. Looks like the ref loss track of the action. Meh, it happens. They got to the end fair enough.

 

For tonight’s RAW, we can expect Bayley to try to even the score against Lyra Valkyria. Penta (Lucha-Mitsu) will speak on how awesome it is to be awesome. We’ll have some qualifying action and get introduced to some new faces as La Catalina visits from AAA to take on Roxanne Perez and Iyo Sky. For the Men, Dragon Lee, Rey Mysterio and Solo Sikoa will see who gets a shot at the contract. That one could go any which way. And LA Knight will fill us in on what happened after the show last week and tell us how he plans to handle Roman Reigns at MITB.

 

I got one more of these early starts and then it’s to 7pm PDT in October. Took forever, didn’t it. Well, that’s just how it goes sometimes. As They say, life is what happens when you’re making other plans. I’m just happy this stayed on the To-Do List. I’ll still keep things relatively early on Mondays just ‘cause the start of the week and all that. Everyone’s got stuff to do. Only the diehards are clamoring for this stuff. I don’t mind if you keep it leisurely. It is entertainment after all.
